Introduction: Foods of Fallout: BlamCo Mac & Cheese

About: Maker of all things delicious and geeky.

BlamCo Mac & Cheese from Fallout. Super easy to make! You only need one skillet to make this in, perfect if you are hauling tons of gear across the Wasteland.

3 1/2 cups water
12 ounces evaporated milk
3 cups elbow macaroni
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/2 cups  cheddar cheese, grated
1 1/2 cups Monterey Jack cheese, grated
2 tablespoons butter, cubed
salt and pepper, to taste

large saucepan or skillet

1. Add 3 cups of the water, the evaporated milk, and macaroni together in a large skillet. Heat over medium high heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching, until the macaroni is tender and the liquid has thickened slightly.

2.In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch with the dry mustard and remaining 1/2 cup of water. Add to the skillet and continue to cook for a few minutes.

3. Remove the skillet from the heat and slowly stir in the cheese and butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

This looks great, I'm a huge fallout fan and have cooked proffessionally for about a decade. I'm definitely going to try this method, homemade mac & cheese is the best!
Out of curiosity, why start cooking the pasta in cold liquid vs. adding it to boiling liquid?

The starch in the pasta helps thicken the milk, in addition to the corn starch that is added later.

If a girl cooks this for me, she steals my heart.. I have never ever met another person that likes fallout anyway. Well, most people I meet that did play fallout, only played Fallout 3 or Las Vegas..

    Did you also play 1 & 2?

Fallout Tactics sucks by the way :)

I'm a console player, so I never got the chance to play 1 and 2. I'd like to get a gaming PC sometime in the future, so I can play some of the older PC-only games.

Ah ok, well, I have a mac port of 1 & 2 and it's a very light game, so it's also playable on a simple pc ;) It's not 3D, but Isometric view :)

This is awesome! I made some buffalo seeds last year but they don't taste that great and take alot of work to harvest.
