Introduction: Footprint Hearts

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

This funky piece of art will keep your loved one "on their toes" by the time they receive it!

Step 1: Materials

Here is what you will need...

  • any size canvas or poster board
  • assorted paint colors
  • paint palette
  • paper hearts
  • white glue or Tacky

Step 2: Prep Posterboard

Lay a piece of poster board down on your work surface.

Step 3: Make a Heart

Then, squeeze out some favorite paint colors on a paint palette, dip your feet into it, and make footprints on the paper. Make sure that the toes are pointed up on either side, and the heels are slightly touching each other so that it recreates the shape of a heart.

Step 4: Decorate

As added bonuses, you can trace out the heart with a marker, and add a paper heart to the center of the footprints. However, if you feel that this is taking away much of the appearance of the artwork, do it however you feel it looks perfect to you!

Step 5: Done!

Now, it's done and ready to show off!

Here's a fun idea: have the bride and groom make this project using their favorite colors, and write their names inside of a paper heart to display at their wedding reception!

This also makes for a fun outdoor summer [camp] project for kids to try when they want to get down and dirty!
