Introduction: Frankenstein Halloween Cake

Hello, everyone, it is Roberta, Miranda, and Amanda. We are back again but now with a Frankenstein cake. Our teacher Ms. Ugarte told our classmates and us about the Halloween contest that Instructables was hosting. We went through an ideation process. We first made some questions we wanted to ask people in order to come up with the perfect idea to make our Instructables. After we came up with multiple ideas. We chose the Frankenstein cake that is spooky and a perfect Halloween treat. We hope you enjoy!!

Step 1: Materials

We first want to get everything to start baking.

  • Cake mix
  • Eggs
  • Oil
  • Measuring cup
  • Frosting vanilla (home made)
  • Box frosting vanilla
  • Green food coloring
  • Black food coloring
  • Spatula

Step 2: Making the Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • Chocolate Cake miz
  • 1/4 of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup of liter of water
  • Hand mixer

First we made the cake with chocolate cake mix, 3 eggs, ¼ cup of vegetable oil and lastly 1 cup (0.24 liters) of water (ingredients in the photo above) then we mixed it a hand mixer after that we baked the cake in the oven at 350ºf later, we waited for it to cool down so that we could stack both layers together and frost it without the frosting melting off.

Step 3: Making the Frosting

Ingredients

  • 12 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Now making the frosting is one of the fun and fast steps to make. In this step you will be needed confectioner's sugar, butter, Whole milk and Vanilla extract, bowls, sieve and mixer. Grab a bowl and using the sieve add 12 cups of confectioner's sugar on it and shake it. After that take of the sieve and grab 3/4 cup butter softened. To make it soft butter use the microwave around 2o or 30 seconds. Then pour in the bowl ¾ of whole milk. Use the mixer or hand mixer. Then, add one 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and mix it. It should look sponged or have a soft texture. If not add more confectioner’s sugar and put it in the fridge for a few hours.

Step 4: Decorating the Cake

Ingredients

  • Homemade Frosting
  • Green and Black food coloring
  • Box of Frosting

Now that we have everything together it is now time for the fun part decorating. We first want to get our homemade frosting and put it around the cake. Next we want to get our box frosting and add a drop of green food coloring, we want to do the same thing with another box frosting and add a drop of black food coloring. First we add multiple layers of the green frosting on the cake. Now what you do is put your black frosting in a bag and cut the tip of the bag. This will give you a neater way to give Frankenstein a face. We first want to make the hairline and fill it in with frosting, then we want to make the eyes. After that, we want to make the stitched smile. We hope you enjoyed this project and are happy with how your Frankenstein cake turned out. See you next time!!!
