Step 1: What You Need:

3 balloons- any color and standard size

salt- lots of it!

food coloring- any color, the more the better

Surprise toy- for the inside of the balloon but not necessary

Trays to catch all the water

warm water- for melting off the ball

Step 2: Directions:

Put a small surprise toy inside a balloon. Then fill up water balloon with water until desired size is reached (not too big not too small). Tie the balloon and put in in the freezer over night. The next day take out the balloons and rip apart the balloon leaving the big ball of ice. Put it on a tray. Then pour salt all over, we focused on the top only. Wait a few minutes then start dropping a few drops of food coloring. The salt builds craters and channels in which the food coloring runs through. Try different colors! Finally for the toy surprise pour warm water over the ball revealing the toy surprise inside.

Step 3:

My 2 year old son had a blast with this project!! The power rangers surpise toys were a bonus! I hope you try it out and let me see some pictures of your ball art:) Watch the youtube video that I added above of my son's ball art! Hope you enjoy:)
