Intro: Full Disassembly and Cleaning of a Laptop Compaq CQ61 (in Details)
Model CQ61 is very difficult to clean when it is necessary to disassemble the laptop to fundamentally to clean the cooling system. Because of this I will try to give the most detailed description.
Step 1: What You'll Need?
- LAPTOP COPMAQ CQ61
- 1 and 1/2 hour work time
Step 2: What You Need to Know?
There are several types of bolts, such as bolt which secures WI-FI card, and those which fix the fan, they are easily distinguished. There are 3 types which are identical in appearance, but have different lengths and placed in various locations, such as the normal and most common are the longest, shorter are those that secure the hard drive and the smallest are those in battery area (these species can see in the picture).
For safe and smooth operation completely unscrew the bolts and remove them!!!
Also connecting not worry, it will confuse the wiring. This can not occur because each cable has a variable length, connector, or at least has a different number of pins!
Step 3: The Beginning With Rear Side.
- Turn the laptop on the rear side (from to battery).
- Remove the battery.
Loosen the screws marked with red circles.
Remove the covers (do not be afraid to pull hard plastic is very flexible and robust).
Remove all marked balls (each type of a different cell from the box).
Remove the CD drive.
Remove from goltovete HDD device (also of a different cell from the box).
Pull the HDD drive in the direction shown.
Remove the RAM memory like claws.
Disconnect the cables from the Wi-fi card, pull them up.
Unscrew the screw from the Wi-fi card to remove it.
So done with the rear side!
Step 4: Continuing With the Front Side.
Remove the keyboard by pulling it straight up.
- Disconnect the cable that connects through the keyboard to the motherboard by pulling it straight up.
- And disconnect the cable to it (right) pulling it up (north).
- Loosen the bolt that secures the testimony black frame.
- Pull straight up black frame (as shown in picture). You should also lay greater effort (also can not break it).
Disconnect the three connectors shown.
Pull cables of jacks.
- Disconnect the connector of the monitor (top left) detach it carefully straight up!
Loosen the screws on the monitor from both sides are marked (4 screws).
Remove the monitor by lifting it off straight up.
Loosen the screw in the top left, which fixes the gray frame with touchpad.
Pull the cable that connects the touchpad to the motherboard by pulling it down (south).
Start removing the gray frame pad by inserting fingers into the hole (where was the CD drive) and start pulling hard right up. Gray frame with touchpad behaves healthy claws, use greater force to remove it, starting to care will seem that it uncrushed but not, compression of the clips are healthy! You also can not break anything. You will need a little more thoroughness and diligence in the upper corners (especially if disassembly the laptop for the first time)!
Once you premahanli gray frame with touchpad reach the motherboard.
Remove the cable down the left, labeled "Audio".
Loosen the screw that secures the motherboard (located bottom right).
Disconnect audio cable (speakers, located at the top of the motherboard).
Start removing the motherboard making it up from the right side.
Take the other side of the motherboard.
Disconnect the fan cable connected to the motherboard.
I do not recommend removing the cooling system of the processor and video card, but if it is time to change the paste, then cooling razviiyte bolts in the order shown in the picture! For installation, the sequence is the same.
Unscrew the fan.
Step 5: Cleaning...
- Clean the radiator from the accumulated dust by vacuum or a can of compressed air.
- Disassemble the fan and clean it well.
- Use high speed grease for the lubrication of the fan axis
Assemble the fan
Step 6: Assembling the Front Side.
Place the fan and screw screws.
Route the fan cable UNDER cooling copper pipe.
Connect the fan cable to the motherboard.
Take the laptop casing place the motherboard.
Screw the motherboard with the fixing screw in the bottom right angle.
Connect the speakers cable to the motherboard.
Connect (bottom left) with a note "Audio" to the headphone jack and microphone.
Connect the cables at the top right of the motherboard.
Place the gray frame touchpad and press well all round.
Fix gray frame by a screw in the upper left corner.
Connect the touchpad to motherboard.
Place the monitor
Screw the four screws that secure the monitor (2 in two corners).
Pass the cables WI-FI card and insert them into the hole.
Connect the black two-pin cable to the motherboard.
Connect the monitor cable (upper left corner) to the motherboard.
Insert the black frame.
Tighten the set screw on the black frame.
Connect the frame cable to the motherboard (on / off and wi-fi button).
Connect the keyboard to the motherboard.
Insert the angled bottom of the keyboard to the black frame.
Click on the periphery of keys to its correct standing.

Slide the HDD to connect to the connector.
Tighten the fixing (the special) screws of HDD.
Place the WI-FI card.
Tighten the set screw on WI-FI card.
Connect the cables for WI-FI card as shown in the picture.
Insert the bottom of RAM at an angle and push it until it clicks, then repeat with the top RAM.
Insert the CD drive. Turn one shown screw (screw that secures the CD drive).
Tighten all bolts shown, use the special battery area.
Place the small cover and screw it.
Place the small cover at an angle on the left side and screw it.
Place the big cover at an angle on the left side and screw it.
That's all, I hope this instructable you was helpful.
