Step 1: Some Good Error Message Tips

DO:
Use error codes e.g. error 693
Use C:\, D:\, E:\ etc. in front of all file names e.g. C:\ MS WORD
Use Caps for error messages and program names e.g. ERROR 693: FILE CORRUPTED,
C:\ MS WORD
DON'T:
Use I, Me or you (Do not: ERROR 693: I don't think me and you get along nicely.)
Make it sound like a conversation (Do not: C:\ hi{}HI{}C:\how are you?{}GOOD) the {} stands for new line

So, Using what we learned here...
C:\ MS WORD
ERR 404
C:\ MS POWERPOINT
ERR 404

ERROR 693 MS WORD CORRUPTED MS POWERPOINT CORRUPTED
