Since F.L.U.D.D. is able to converse with Mario, it's believed to be equipped with some kind of artificial intelligence. With special nozzles, F.L.U.D.D. can be used like a jet pack to reach high places or for high-speed swimming.

Hey everyone, member SHIFT! here with another Photo Instructable.

Two weeks ago I went on an five day family vacation the visit the tropical paradise of Honolulu, Hawaii.  However, what I thought was going to a relaxing summer vacation actually turned out to be a perilous situation.  Upon my arrival, I was arrested by the police and blamed for covering the entire city with vile-paint like pollution, then forced into an extended stay until I had cleaned it up.  Thankfully, I had with me my trusty portable  Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device or "FLUDD".

OK, so maybe that didn't happen, but I did bring FLUDD with me when I went on my Hawaiian Vacation.

FLUDD is one of my earliest Mattraptions, built and designed by me when I was in 8th grade.  Back then, I was extremely invested in the game Super Mario Sunshine and, being the resident Mad Scientist, I was really interested in creating a project from the game.  So, when I found this Wendy's Peanuts 50th Anniversary Confetti Shooter #3 Toy gathering dust in my closet, I instantly knew I wanted to create a portable version of Mario's water spraying jetpack.

The basic function of this device is simple.  By turning the Peanuts toy upside down, installing a simple one way water valve and inserting a length of flexible tubing from the confetti globe to the top, I was able to make the device pump water from the plastic globe and out from the nozzle head.  The Head is built from Sculpey Clay, a yellow plastic ball, and a bike horn, while the decorative blue pump comes from a Star Wars episode 1 toy.  The range of his water is around 5-10 feet and he can hold up to 3.5 shotglasses of water.

FLUDD is one my most classic inventions and along with my Microbe Obliterator robot, helps me keep my cleaning OCD in check.  He also looks great on the beach!

Note:  I know it's probably too late to submit this into the Watersports Challenge, but at least I can still enter this into our in house "Summer Fun Contest".
