- Garlic rice can be a good one pot meal.Garlic along with homemade lentil spice powder are mixed with rice which gives nice flavour and spicy taste
- This can be prepared with left over rice.we can prepare spice powder before hand and can mix in rice when needed.

Step 1: Ingredients
First we need to cook about 2 cups rice and keep ready. peel 6 to 7 garlic cloves and chop them.
Main flavour of this rice is with lentil spice powder which is prepared using following ingredients:
- Tsp coriander seeds
- Tsp split black gram
- 2 tsp split bengal gram
- 2 dry red chillies
We saute and blend all these ingredients along with garlic cloves to form spice powder.
Ingredients for tempering rice:
- Tsp cumin, mustard seeds
- Few curry leaves
- 3 garlic cloves
Step 2: Sauteing All Ingredients for Spice Powder
-First take a pan and little oil in it. when is heated add chopped garlic,teaspoon split black gram,teaspoon coriander seeds and 2 teaspoon split bengal gram
( I used 7 garlic cloves as main flavour of rice is with garlic)
Step 3: Add Dry Red Chillies
-Next add 3 dry red chillies and saute all ingredients till they change little color.
Step 4: Blend
-Next transfer all sauted ingredients to blender and blend to powder .
- This spice powder is then mixed with cooked rice to make garlic rice.
Step 5: Procedure for Garlic Rice
-First step is tempering.Take a pan and add little oil to it. when is heated add tsp cumin,mustard seeds and few curry leaves
-Chop 3 garlic cloves and add to it.
Step 6: Add Cooked Rice
-Take about 2 cups cooked rice and add to above tempering.When rice is slightly warm switch off the stove.
Step 7: Add Blended Spice Powder
-Next add blended spice powder to it and give a mix.Finally add salt as per taste. serve garlic rice with curd.
