Introduction: Glass Engraving With My Endurance 10W Lazer
This Is How I Engrave On Glass Using My 10W Endurance Lazer. From http://endurancelasers.com/
Step 1:
Step 2: My Equipment
The Endurance 10 watt (10000 mW) laser “Invincible” with 445 nm wavelength
bought from Endurance Lasers
With Home Made Air Assist System
LASER PROTECTION EYEWEAR (Yes, this is essential, A Laser will blind you, do not use your laser without the appropriate eyewear)
Software
T2Laser

Step 3: Setting Up Your Material
The First Thing You Do Is Place A Board On The Lazer Bed. I Then Lay A Soldering Mat On Top Of The Board. (optional) On Top Of The Mat (Or Board) Place A Sheet Of Printer Paper. Then On Top Of The Paper .Lay Your Piece Of Glass To Be Engraved. We Are Now Ready To Engrave
Step 4: T2LAZER SOFTWARE
For Grbl, Benbox and Eleks Maker Laser Engraving systems. Image to G-Code Conversion. Supports JPEG or BMP import (up to 24-bit color). Greyscale (S-value) and 1-Bit (dithered or threshold) conversion. Resolution is user configurable. Horizontal or diagonal engraving (45 degree engraving makes lines less visible). Skip blank lines (improves engraving speed by eliminating unnecessary moves). Image resize (uses an optimized algorithm to improve quality). Allows basic image adjustment (brightness, contrast, flip and rotation). G-Code can be saved (registered users only). Laser Control. Supports Grbl 0.8, 0.9 (J-Tech branch is recommended for optimal performance) and 1.1. Load G-Code files (supports both raster and vector formats). User interface for jogging (8-way) with step distance and set / return home. Laser on, off and pulse (using user configured power and time). Override laser power settings and feed rate in G-Code file. Emergency stop (includes soft reset). Tested with files containing over 7,500,000 lines of G-Code (trial is limited to 10,000 lines). Can be launched directly (registered users only) G-Code Viewer. Supports S-value laser code for true representation of result. Identify problems before sending to the laser.
Step 5: USEING T2 SOFTWARE
Open T2LAZER
Go To File Open Image (Choose Image to Engrave)
Go To Output Size (Choose Image Size You Want)
Go To Laser Power (I Set To 255)
Go To Feed Rate (I Set To 100)
For This Project I Then Choose B/W
I Then Go to Edit And Choose Auto Trace
Then Switch To Laser Control Mode
I Use A Different Order In Video (It's Up To You)
Click On Envelope To Start Engraving
REMEMBER THE LASER WILL ENGRAVE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF GLASS
Step 6: CLEAN GLASS
Once The Engraving Has Finished Clean Glass I use Sponge And Washing Up Liquid Dry Glass If There Is Residue Left I Use A Alcohol Wipe And We Are Done
Step 7: Pros and Cons of Endurance 10w Laser
Pros
Real rated optical power output of is 10 watt (10000 mW)
Unlike many Chinese lasers the Endurance 10 watt laser can work continuously up to 48-72 hours
Cooling Active air blowing with 4 fans
Laser Driver External laser control box
Lifetime 10 000 hours
Endurance provides and ultimate customer support with full guidance and tutorials
Cons
Slightly More Expensive Than Chinese Counterpart But Performance Is By Far Better
Step 8: USEFULL LINKS
I Must Say I Am Well Impressed With My Endurance 10W LAZER I'm Glad I Payed That Bit Extra For A Far Superior Laser And The Excellent After Sales Support You Get
