This is kinda dumb. Let's just start out with that. It's really simple and stupid but it works for me.

I've been doing this for years and I've had a few different people stop me and mention what a great idea it is. So I decided to write a quick blog post about it even though it's stupid easy to do. It's a way to stabilize your GoPro shots using an expandable pole which most owners already own. This is the one that I have.

Step 1: Extend the Pole

Extend the pole out so it's about 18" long. Make sure the skinniest section is exposed so most of the weight is towards the bottom.

Step 2: Grip the Pole

Lightly grip the pole directly underneath the GoPro mount. Grip it between your thumb and index finger.

Step 3: Add Some Weight (optional)

Add some weight to the bottom if you think you need it. The wrist strap allows you to basically attach anything you wish. A stapler, a mug, a helmet; anything!

Step 4: Shoot!

Now get outside and get some of those precious shots!

And you gotta have a set of doggles for your dog because that's just what you do.
