Introduction: Grape and Ginger Jelly

This is a simple recipe for a nice grape and ginger jelly.

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients:
- 5 cups of black grapes
- 3 cups of sugar
- 2-3 oz of ginger (depending on how spicy you want your jelly)

You will use:
- 2 pots
- strainer
- big spoon
- clear sterilized jars

Step 2: Boiling

Wash the grapes and remove the pedicels. Peel the ginger and chop it finely.
Put grapes, sugar and ginger into the pot and heat it slowly, stir from time to time, until it boils. Keep it boiling for about 10 minutes until the grapes will start to crumble.

Step 3: Straining

Let the mixture cool a little bit and start to strain it into the second pot. Use a big wooden or plastic spoon and try to squeeze as much syrup as you can.

Step 4: Boiling Again

Put the pot with the strained mixture on the stove and boil on the small heat level for another 30 minutes. A foam-like layer will appear on the top of the jelly. If you don't want it in the jars just grab it with a spoon and eat it or throw away.

Step 5: Jars

Pour the hot mixture into the jars. If it's hot enough you won't need to pasteurize them later. Just remember that it's better to pre-heat the jars to avoid cracking them while pouring the boiling jelly.
After filling each jar, close the cap firmly and put the jar upside down. It helps to get rid of the air from the jar.
Let the jars cool and put it into the cupboard or fridge.
It's great with peanut butter sandwiches, pancakes, ice-creams, etc.
