Step 1: Ingredients
- 1 very ripe avocado*
- chopped cilantro ( a little goes a long way)
- 1/2 a lime
- 1/2 a jalapeno, seeded and diced
- 1/2 tomato, chopped
- onion powder (no fresh onion on hand)
- garlic powder
*If there are avocados on sale and they are rock hard and you have patience, you will be rewarded! Buy the avocados, place them in a brown paper bag, put the bag in a dark place...wait 2 - 3 days and they will be perfect!! I promise!!
Step 2: Mash and Mix
Cut your avocado in half, remove the seed. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Mash the avocado with the back of a fork. Add your chopped cilantro, tomatoes, diced jalapenos, lime juice and mix. Season with salt, garlic powder, onion powder and cumin to taste. Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap (with the plastic pushed into the guac to prevent a skin or oxidation) and refrigerate.
