Introduction: Hakka Noodles

Every time I went to a restaurant as a child; my response to 'What I'll eat?' would always be hakka noodles! There is something about it that just pleases the mind and of course the stomach. So let's have a look at this easy and popular chinese dish!

Supplies

1) Noodles
2) Sliced Onions
3) Grated Cabbage
4) Sliced Carrots
5) Chopped spring onion green tops
6) Sliced Bell peppers
7) Finely chopped Garlic
8) Chopped chilies
9) Soy sauce
10) Ketchup
11) Vinegar
12) Green chili sauce
13) Schezwan sauce
14) Red chili powder
15) Olive Oil
16) Salt

Step 1: Boil the Noodles

Take a bowl of water and heat it. When the water starts to boil, add the raw noodles. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes on medium flame. When the noodles become soft and easy to break, they are cooked. Drain the water and wash under the tap with normal water, keep it to dry. After 15 mins of drying, apply a little olive oil and keep the noodles aside.

Step 2: Chop Veggies

Wash all the vegetables properly and chop them in desired shape and size usually long and think for chinese dishes like noodles.

Step 3: Heat the Pan

Take a big pan and heat it. Add olive oil in considerate amount. When the oil is hot, add garlic and chilies, satuee it for 2-3 mins.

Step 4: Add Veggies

Once the garlic is slightly brownish. Add onions first, sauteed it on high flame. When turned brownish add cabbage and carrots. Bell peppers to be added last because is cooks easily. Also spring onion green tops NOT to be added right now. Cook all the veggies well and mix for 10 mins.

Step 5: Add Sauces

After the veggies are cooked. Add sauces and spices
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp ketchup
1 tsp schezwan sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp green chili sauce
1/2 tsp red chili powder
Salt according to taste
Mix well with the vegetables

Step 6: Add Noodles

Add the cooked noodles to the pan with veggies and sauce. Gentle mix them well. Now add the spring onion green tops. Hakka Noodles are ready!

Step 7: Garnishing

Optional step, make a single fry egg and place it on top of your noodles bowl for aesthetics and obviously for the love of egg!
