Intro: Halloween Party Idea
In this instructable, you will find house decoration, menu, and goodie bags for the guests :)
Step 1: House Decoration: Jack O Lantern
These scary pumpkins are made of egg carton! Your little ones can help in making these fun crafts.
All you need is:
Non toxic paints of orange, green and black
Double side sticky tape (optional)
Cut each cavity of the egg carton. Paint them orange and once dried, try stacking them up to see where you should paint eyes and mouth with black paint. You can then attach them as is once dry, or you can use double side sticky tape and glue them from the inside.
Cut strips of egg cartons and paint them green.
Make a little hole on top of the egg carton (the head part), and insert in the strips as stems

Step 2: House Decoration: Egg Carton Spiders
Another fun and easy craft to make for the kids!
You will need:
Black and white paint
Cut each cavity and make holes about 6 on each cavity
Paint them all black. Once dry, paint eyes and grins with white paint
Cut strips from egg carton, and paint them black as well
Once dry, insert these strips as legs and somewhat bend them

Step 3: House Decorations: Painted Pumpkins
Yes carving is so much fun but painting is more fun in our house (when there are tiny fingers always attracted to play with the knife, yikes!)
We painted our pumpkins with non toxic paints which later on we can scrub and wash then skin and bake to puree for later use :)
You can paint any characters you wish, from cute, pretty, scary to gory!
Step 4: House Decoration: Scary House Guard
To make this is pretty simple. You will need:
Tall lamp post
Plastic dracula cape from Dollar Store
Scary mask from Dollar Store
Sticky tape and Double side sticky tape
Cloth diaper pin if needed
If your lamp post is "skinny", try to create a shoulder by using cloth hanger. My lamp post has three lights where you can turn them up down left right, so I could create a little shoulder.
Place mask on 1 light and wrap cape around the other 2 lights.
With the help of cloth diaper pin on sticky tape/double side, you can adjust so that the cape covering the lamp post
We placed this scary house guard at the entrance door, so once the guest enter, this is greeting them :)
We also purchased skeleton garland, from Dollar Store, a pack is like more than 10 of them and with double side sticky tape on the wall, we spelled BOO near our house guard, with the idea of boo tricking the guests who just enter the door.
We placed our painted pumpkins on the entrance door as well, accompanying the house guard.
Step 5: House Decoration: a (Welcome) Halloween Wreath
To see more pictures:
This is made by wrapping orange streamer around branch wreath that is available at craft stores, glued with double side sticky tape.
Then wrap gauze and spider web, also glued with double side sticky tape.
I decorated them with Halloween themed cupcake picks attached to lollipops, glued to skewers.
These lollipops are also covered in either orange or black streamers. Some I even transformed them into bats and scary pumpkins.

Step 6: Goodie Bags From Toilet Paper Rolls
For the goodie bags, I saved our toilet paper rolls a month in advance haha
They are shaped almost like candies, or more to New Year's party crackers.
I filled them with tons of candies then wrap the rolls with orange and black streamers which I glued with sticky tape.
Then the wrapped rolls are again wrapped with see through Halloween mesh and tied with orange and yellow ribbons on each side.
All materials are available at Dollar Store
They are pretty cute if I may say so myself :)
Step 7: Party Table Menu
On our party table, we served:
Swamp Thing Pudding (molded as a foot and a hand, the mold is for gelatin, available at Walmart and Dollar Store)
Jars of candies - I bought 1 tall glass jar and 2 smaller glass jars from Dollar Store which then I decorated with 3 plastic scary pumpkins, they are hot glued to the lid of the jars. Pretty simple, but pretty good also for table decoration. The candies/chocolates are store bought.
Marshmallow bucket - All you need is chocolate wafer/coating, large marshmallows, sugar sprinkles orange color, and Halloween sprinkles of your choice. Melt the chocolate, dip lollipop sticks and insert into marshmallow then dip the marshmallows into chocolate and sprinkle with sugar or Halloween sprinkles. Inside the bucket (available at Warlmart or Dollar Store, I placed a flower foam/styrofoam to hold the sticks.
Chocolate Orange Cake - You can use your favorite chocolate cake obviously but the buttercream I use is SMBC, tinted in orange flavoring and coloring. I decorated the top with jelly beans and the side with molded chocolates, using chocolate wafer of regular and orange color.

Pour the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and mix until combined. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop dough onto prepared sheet and bake for 8-11 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
Melt a handful or two chocolate chips on microwave and pour it into ziplock bag. Snip the corner and pipe little spiders on cookies.
Popcorn - store bought and just popped in microwave
Veggie, crackers and dip tray - of salty crackers, salsa, canned corn and baby carrots
And candy corn cupcakes - you can use any vanilla/white cake of your choice which the batter you divide in portions, tint with orange and yellow gel food coloring and pipe into muffin pans one topping another as candy corn color. The buttercream is always SMBC and you can flavor it as you prefer it. Decorate/top each cupcake with candy corn
