--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put together a quick how to on the subject of how I carved the siding on Uncle Henrys Barn and how I painted the finish .
This how to is not about how to build the barn , it is about how to make the hand carved siding in N-Scale but can be
used for many different model scales.
materials :
card stock
balsa wood
tacky glue
exacta knife
sanding block
straight edge
acrylic paints -tan,gray,black,white
Blow dryer

1st step) trace your balsa wood on card stock.

2) run a bead of glue inside your tracing.

3) spread out the glue

4) place the balsa wood on the glue and slide to one side

7) I used my heavy magnet and metal glue up tray to apply pressure

8) I cut away the excess card stock

9) Balsa wood glued to card stock ready to carve

10) you can use a paper print out and follow the lines for scoring .

11) after the lines were scored , I used my sharp edge to scuff some detail in the boards

12) lightly sanded to remove fibers

the last step after high lighting would be to dry , and apply another dull coat layer and allow that to dry .

This is the method I used to build and finish Uncle Henrys Barn , every peice is scratch built on this project it is in 1:160th scale N-Scale.

I hope you enjoyed the instructable and I hope you find it useful in many of your projects.
