Hand-Stitched Envelope Decoration

About: An engineer, seamstress, cook, coder, and overall maker. Spent a summer at Instructables; got a degree in E: Neural Engineering at Olin College; made a microcontroller (tessel.io); now thinking about climate...

Nothing says home-made like a little hand stitching. And if you're going to the trouble to write a letter, in this day and age, you might as well take the extra few minutes to make it really special.

By stitching a little on the envelope with simple needle and thread, you can turn your business-sized letter envelope into a really special piece of mail.

Tip: It's easiest to make evenly spaced stitches if you pre-puch holes beforehand with your needle.

Tip: If you want something even more special, make some pretty perforated stationery!

Looks good! You should play with laser cutting some really fancy holes! Or laser cutting an acrylic hole poking template.
