This is a special hand made Key Tag which I made in a couple of hours for my best friend who migrated. I made it in the shape of a Heart as a symbol of our friendship....so that I would always be in her heart.
She loves it so much that she carries it around in her pocket where ever she goes with all her keys in it. I'm happy that she has a reminder of me where ever she goes.
Step 1: Materials Needed
A piece of cloth
Some left over cut pieces
Matching threads for sequins
A piece of chain
2 key rings (Big & Small)
Sewing Machine (Not included)
Pic 1: Draw a heart
Height Point to point - 5cm
Width - 6.5 cm
Pic 2 : Cut around on pencil mark
Pic 3 : Fold material in to two and place heart on top and trace it around
Pic 4 : Traced out view
Pic 5: Put the pins on the heart ,so that the piece under it does not move around. Then cut around leaving half cm for sewing allowances.
Pic 6: There are two hearts pined together.
Step 3: The Hook
Pic 1 : A tiny piece of material for the hook - 7cm x .8cm
Pic 2 : Fold in a little bit from both sides.
Pic 3 : Fold again in to two,I keep a scissor on top so that it does not open out.
Pic 4 : Do a straight stitch on top.
Step 4: Inserting the Hook
Pic 1 : Fold the band in the middle in to two.
Pic 2 : Insert the folded band in the middle of the two cut out heart pieces
Pic 3 : Sew around the heart leaving a little space to turn inside out and for the filling.
Pic 4 : Cut out the excess band on the hook
Step 5: Turning in Side Out and Filling
Ooops change of coloutr, because the picture was taken with a Mobile phone...
Pic 1 : Turn inside out - Do you see the open space??
Pic 2 : Chop the rest of the material pieces for filling
Pic 3 :Stuff the heart with these chopped material pieces.
Pic 1 : Sew the open side
Pic 2 : Sew the tiny sequins over the heart..
Pic 3 :Sew on the other side too. I used two colours.
I fixed the two rings to both ends of the chain. The small ring attach it to the hook of the heart.Just roll it on in to the hook .
Now add your keys and you are done!
Isn't it so cute..and a Pocket size?
This is my own creation...

I have posted this in the Hurriecane contest too.
I am a day care mom who is working full time, and do not have enough time for my sewing and crafting work which I love it very much.If ever I win the laser cutter I will give up my full time job or reduce it to a couple of hours(because I do a lot of craft work with the kids and they will be dissapointed to see me no more)and start my own business at home as I have enough and more sewing orders which I can not do it on time.Every instructable I do with the help of the laser cutter,I will definetly post it on this great site.
