Healthy and Fresh Chewy Fruit Cake Without Using Oven




Some people thought it is difficult to make cakes at home especially without oven but with little effort and smart techniques it has become quite easy to make cake at home. I am going to teach you how you can make a yummy, healthy and fresh chewy fruit cake at home with the use of oven.

Firstly, you will have to require following ingredients to make chewy fruit cake at home:

  • 3 eggs
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 140 grams of all purpose flour
  • 171 grams of butter
  • 2 tablespoon of water and powdered sugar
  • 1 tea spoon of baking soda and baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of tutti fruiti dry fruit
  • Chopped orange peel and 1 cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped dates, candied cherries, walnut and raw cashews
  • 1 piece of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of raisins

Step 1: Grind Your Spices & Separate Some Sugar

In first, your will have to grind all spices which are consisting of nutmeg, cinnamon and orange peel. However, it is necessary to cut these spices into small pieces before inserting them into grinder or coffee grinder. After the completion of grinding process just put these powdered spices into a separate bowl. You will also have to aside 3 tablespoon of sugar in a separate bowl as well.

Step 2: Mix Fruits and Nuts With 3 Tablespoons of All Purpose Flour

Second Step is very important and you will skip this step, your cake will be prepared in appropriate manner. In second step, you will have to mix fruits and nuts with 3 table spoons of all purpose flour properly. Because, if you will add fruits and nuts at last step then these were float on the surface of cake. Then, you will have to mix remaining flour with baking powder and baking soda.

Step 3: Beat Eggs and Butter

On the other hand, beat the eggs in a bowl until mixed well.

Take butter in a bowl and beat it in appropriate manner. After that, mix it with beaten eggs.

This is the very significant process of this recipe. Combine mixture of butter and eggs with all purpose flour in very appropriate manner. Then add 3 tablespoon of sugar that we have already separately in the beginning. Electronic mixer could also be used in this regard. I will must say to get perfection you will have to try near about two to three times as I have also tried it many time when my husband was posted at Virginia few years ago.

Then heat the remaining sugar in nonstick pan and when it start melting then add some water in it and stir it. When both of them well mixed then stop stirring and store them in a cooler place. Then mix this sugar syrup with the mixture of flour.

Step 4: Add Mixture of Nuts and Fruits

Now it is the stage when we will have to add the nuts and fruits that we have already mixed with 3 tablespoons of flour into the mixture of cake. Then, coat the tray with oil and put all mixture in this tray.

Step 5: Last Step

for 15 minutes and then put the tray in it. After closing the lid near about 45-55 minutes will be require the cake. However, you can also check after 45 minutes that is it completely baked or more time will be required. I always suggest that it should be heat on minimal flame.

    you know this is great, using a pressure cooker instead of an oven is a perk in my opinion, I lived in South Korea for a little over a year and didn't have an oven and just one burner for a stove in my tiny studio apartment. Cooking was difficult but if only i had thought of this, I could have made a delicious cake to eat with my coffee. Thanks for sharing :)

    I thought at first the 'without using an oven' was so you could make cakes on a camp-out or such, but since you need a pressure cooker it looks like the 'no oven' thing is just for its own sake and not for any practical reason? Just about everyone who has a pressure cooker available will have an oven too. So what was your underlying reason for making a 'no oven' cake?

    You'll bake it at home with organic stuff that's why we can claim it healthy.
    As you don't claim anything about bakery cakes.

    The last step is not complete. Are you supposed to use a pressure cooker? And then put a pan into it? Do you add water to the cooker?

    no, you shouldn't add water in pressure cooker but a layer of salt is better to bake cake :)
