Step 1: Tools, Materials, and Location

i realize this is not an option for a lot of people but for those of us lucky enough to have removable ceiling tiles, well here's what you'l need:

  • rope
  • board
  • PVC
  • drill and a bit big enough to put the rope through

Step 2: Drill and Hang

go ahead and drill through the floor support beams about 3 inches from the edge, if your worried about compromising the structural integrity of them don't be, standard home construction calls for many of these holes to be made to run wires around as shown in the second picture

Step 3: The Seat

in the center of the board drill either one big hole that the rope can go through twice or tow small holes that it can pass through once, tie a loop in the rope and put a stick of PVC, re-barb, dowel, or any other strong item should work

Step 4: Done

when your done swinging simply put the swing up on the panel next to it and replace the other pannel

Great idea to take advantage of drop ceilings! I'd love to have one of these :)

I like that it's hidden. I can think of a lot of people this should be hidden from... parents, landlord, etc. :) Thanks for sharing!
