Today I am going to show you how to make a homemade shop vac. This is very simple and easy to do. Im going to show you how to do this with a 18v black and decker blower, a bucket, a hose, and a couple of other thing you can find at home.

Step 1: What You Need

The first thing you are going to need is a 18 volt black and decker blower. I going to use this blower because I already had this blower for a Couple of years already. But if you don't have this blower and have a different one you can use it but it will need to Have the circle intake port for this to work.
The next thing is a plastic buckets with a lid. I you can get these at like Home Depot, lowes, osh or any hardware store for just about 4 bucks.
Next is a hose for any old vacuum. You can buy a hose to at any hardware store too.
You will need 2 plastic cups, a dust mask, and some rubber bands.
You will also need a 3 inch and 1inch drill circle cutter(these two sizes worked for me but make sure you are using the right sizes before you cut), a hot glue gun, and a knife.

Step 2: Time to Build.

Now that you have evthing you need we can start building it.
The first thing to do is drill a hole close to the top in the bucket for the hose. Tip.don't make the hole bigger then the hose is always make it just a little smaller or the exact same size.
Put the house on and make sure it fits nice and tight.
Now drill a hole in the lid.
Now get the two cups and put both in. Cut about 2 inch off of the bottom of the cup.
Now put the cups in the hole that you made in the lid. Leave about 1 1/2 inches of the cup sticking out of the top of the lid. Use hot glue and make a seal on the bottom of the lid to prevent air from leaking in.
Now put one of the rubber bands on the cut that is on the bottom of the lid. Get the dust mask and put it over the rubber band on the cup. Get another rubber band and put it over the dust mask. Make sure that the rubber bands a fully covering the dusk mask.
Put the lid on and put the blower port on top of the cup on top of the lid. Take the wand off of the blower so it won't get in the way. Get a bungee cord and put it over the blower so it will
stay on it and won't fall off.
Now it is all done. Try it out and see how it works. Remember this is a 18 volt motor not a 120 volt one. This means the it is only able to pick up things like paper, saw dust, and anything that is light. I won't be able to pick up heave thins like nails.
