Introduction: How to Climb a Tree

Climbing trees is awesome! Here I will show how to safely climb a tree and enjoy the view!

Step 1: Finding a Tree

Find a good climbing tree between 2 to 3 stories with accessible branches.

Step 2: Design a Strategy

Carefully look at the branches and design a safe route which will allow you to maneuver your way up and down the tree.

Step 3: Begin Your Ascent

Grab the first branch on your route to the top of the tree.

Step 4: Hauling Yourself Up

Haul yourself up onto the first branch using your arms to pull your body up.

Step 5: Anchor Your Feet

Using your feet as anchors completely pull yourself up into a standing position on the first branch!

Step 6: Pause for a Moment

Pause for a moment and make sure there are no upcoming hazards on your route! Tree hazards may include, but are not limited to, fire ants, sticky tree sap, wasps, bees, and the occasional carnivorous gopher!

Step 7: Repeat

Repeat steps 3 to 6 to make your way up the tree.

Step 8: Reaching the Summit

Once you reach the summit please pause and enjoy the view!

Step 9: The Descent

To descend the tree use all the techniques I showed you but in reverse! For example, you started to climb the tree using your hands. To descend you will begin by using your feet!

Step 10: Reaching the Bottom

Once you reach the bottom branch, jump down to the ground and revel in your accomplishment!
