This is a simple ring that you can make out of house hold materials, the tools that you will need however are not common to everybody (acetylene torch)
Remember to vote for this instructable if you like it and remember to look at my other contest entries and vote for them too if u like them ;)
Step 1: Materials
You will need just a standard nail you can use any different types of metal nails
For tools you will need an acetylene torch, a hammer, and an anvil (or something hard to press red hot steel) also some pliers and maybe a clamp to keep the nail from moving while hitting it with the hammer, you may also be able to use a blow torch, but I don't know if it would get hot enough
Step 2: Heating Things Up
Heat up the nail with the torch till it is hot enough to press flat with a hammer
Step 3: Just Chilling
Once you have gotten it flat enough to bend to shape (and try not to have any notches in the side of it) you can dunk it in some water and cool it down (Note the ring must be thin enough to easily shape to your finger)
Step 4: Finishing It Off
Once it has cooled off you can polish it up a bit (I didn't just for the sake of getting it down quick for the instructable) and then when you are done that you can start bending it to the shape of whatever finger you are going to put it on
Step 5: Finished
This is what it looks like when there is no polishing on it
Step 6: What It Could Look Like
It could look alot better if you took some time to polish it because I know it doesn't look that good in the pictures
Step 7: Vote for This in the Jewelry Contest If You Liked It
Remember to vote for this in the jewelry contest if you liked it and also look at my wood working entry and my pet entry coming soon
