Introduction: How to Make Yoshi Eggs!

As Easter is coming up you want egg-citing treats, right? This article will tell you how to make these video game treats inspired by Yoshi himself!

For this project, you'll need the following:
16 ounces (453 grams, 2 US cups) powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups (180g) creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup (30g) butter
1 - 2 tablespoons milk
8 1-ounce (28.3g) squares white chocolate
Green Smarties® or similar green button candy/sweets

Step 1: Add Some Ingredients...

Put the butter in the microwave and turn the microwave on. Heat the butter until soft and mostly melted. Add the powdered sugar, peanut butter and the now melted butter into a bowl and mix until smooth

Step 2: Add Some Milk!

The mixture at this point will be a little dry. Add the milk a little at a time until the dough starts to form.

Step 3: Egg Shapes

Form the dough into egg shapes using your hands. You can make lots of little ones or one big one.

Step 4: Freeze the Eggs

Place the shaped pieces on waxed paper and place into the freezer for about an hour and a half for the eggs to firm up.

Step 5: Heat the Chocolate!

When you are ready to decorate the cakes, place the white chocolate squares in a bowl. Heat a pan of water and place the bowl with chocolate inside the pan (a double boiler or a bain marie can be used also).

Step 6: Dip the Eggs

For the Yoshi style egg, dip the egg shapes into the white chocolate and roll around with a spoon, and scoop out onto a piece of waxed paper.

Step 7: And... Whulah! Masterpiece.

Instantly put the green Smarties® onto the cake until the white chocolate cools, being careful of the still-warm white chocolate.
If the chocolate cools too quickly, dab a bit of frosting on the cakes to hold the sweets in place. Now you have your eggs!
