Introduction: How to Soften Hands

I always thought having soft hands was important but now that I am becoming an esthetician I realize it is now a requirement and essential in becoming a successful in demand esthetician. These hands are worth money now!!!

I have a few tips that will help you keep those hands soft and when you hold your loved one's hands they will never want to let go.

Ingredients for 1st step

small mixing bowl

4 drops of vanilla extract

1/3 cup of raw sugar

1/3 cup of grapeseed oil

Ingredients for 2nd step

Scoop of Bag Balm

Gloves

Good Night Rest

Step 1: Vanilla Sugar Scrub for the Hands

Benefits of Ingredients

Grapeseed oil is a very light moisturizer that will not clog pores but it also has astringent qualities that help tighten the skin. I did an Instructables on Grapeseed oil that included scrubs and cleansers that really converted people into grapeseed oil believers.

Raw sugar is the coarsest sugar and it is really great for hands and feet, it will exfoliate the dead skin cells and make your hands feel renewed. Please do not use this scrub on your face because it is too coarse. Raw sugar is an alpha hydroxy rich and will assist in the search for glowing skin. Raw sugar is a humectant which help draw moisture to the skin.

Vanilla in general is very rich in antioxidants that can help prevent skin damage caused by free radicals. To get the true benefits of vanilla you should get vanilla beans but for this sugar scrub vanilla extract will be sufficient. Vanilla is a good source of B vitamins which is beneficial in anti aging. But one the main reasons why I chose vanilla is because it smells so darn good!!!

Directions

Get a small mixing bowl and put 1/3 cup of raw sugar and a 1/3 cup of grapeseed oil with 4 drops of vanilla extract. I like vanilla extract because of the smell and it reminds me of the expensive scrubs you find in the department stores. You can choose any essential oils for example lavender or my favorite eucalyptus oil. Rub the scrub in your hands for a few minutes(it's really up to you how long you would like to keep it on, I would recommend to do it to 5-7 minutes) after rubbing it in use warm water to wash it off. I recommend doing this scrub once a week and you can store it in a closed container in the refrigerator, you can keep it for a week.

Step 2: Instead of a Ring on It Put a Glove on It

Benefits of Ingredients

Bag Balm is a miracle in a green square tin can with a cow head on the lid. Bag Balm is a thick moisturizer that contains lanolin and it is very thick. Bag Balm has been around since 1899, it was originally made to help diary farmers when their cows udders were to chapped to milk. For humans Bag Balm is used to relieve chapped or sunburned skin anywhere on the skin. I really like Bag Balm because it absorbs into the skin and I kinda like the "medical smell". You can use Bag Balm on any rough and dry part on your skin especially feet. Your feet will feel transform to soft picture worthy sandal feet.

You can find Bag Balm at your local grocery store or CVS and Walgreens in the beauty aisle. It usually cost around $8.00.

Directions

After the Vanilla Sugar Scrub get a scoop of Bag Balm and rub on your hands together and put gloves on and go to sleep! When you wake up rub in the Bag Balm if it is still thick on your hands just rub it in further.
