Step 1: Supplies Needed

Here is what you need to make this Jack Daniels Bottle Lamp:

  • Recycled Jack Daniels Glass Bottle
  • Spray Paint
  • Lamp Kit
  • Lamp Shade
  • Bottle Fill
  • Light Bulb

Step 2: Instructions

Tape the neck of the bottle and spray paint the top the bottle neck to hide the cord.

Drill a hole in the back of the bottle. (Visit our blog at for drilling instructions.)

Clean and dry the drilled bottle and insert the lamp kit cord from the bottom of the bottle and place the spacer into the bottle neck.

Add duct tape if needed to make a tight fit.Add your fill to the bottle, we used gold colored glass marbles for the Jack Daniels bottle.

Mount the base plate against the top of the bottle and secure it with the light fixture.

Attach the wiring as shown in the video to complete the bottle lamp kit.

Add the light bulb & lamp shade of your choice. (Be sure the shade covers the mechanics of the lamp kit.)

The light from above adds a nice glow to the glass beads inside the Jack Daniels bottle below, as well as adding stability.

I thought the video proved to be both resourceful and informative. No mention was made of any products to be sold. After reviewing the bottle-lamp website further I found a community of bottle crafters that share both information and ideas. Stoney is stoned.

Sharing is the point of Instructables, NOT selling. Sell somewhere else. and by the way, Home Depot sells glass drill bits to do this, and plenty Of YouTube videos on how to do so.

Hi Stoney420, we don't try to sell anything and yes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and most other hardware stores sell glass drilling bits. What's your point?

The video is fine if you own an engraver, we use a hand held drill or drill press for our projects and have made numerous other instructional videos using recycled glass bottles -
