## Introduction: How to Make 12 Volts Adopter

Have you ever needed a 12 volt power supply that can supply maximum 1 amp? But trying to buy one from the store is a little too expensive? Well, you can make a 12 volt power supply very cheaply and easily!

## Step 1: How to Build It?

The AC mains are fed to the transformer, which steps down the 230 Volts to the desired voltage. The bridge rectifier follows the transformer thus converting AC voltage into a DC output and through a filtering capacitor feeds it directly into the input (Pin 1) of the voltage regulator. The common pin (Pin 2) of the voltage regulator is grounded. The output (Pin 3) of the voltage regulator is first filtered by a capacitor, and then the output is taken.

## Step 2: Things That You Will Need

• 4x 1N4007 Diodes.
• 1x 220 ohms Resistor.
• LM7812 Voltage Regulator.
• 1000µF Capacitor.
• Some jumpers wire.
• LED (any color you want).
• Step Down Transformer (should be greater than 12 volts).

## Step 3: So Let's Make It....

For ease I put number for understanding

First, we should make a bridge from the diode.

## Step 4: Start Wiring

Connect point 3 of Diode bridge to pin 2 of voltage regulator.

NOTE: Open Each picture for details.

Connect point 2 of Diode bridge to the +ive side of the capacitor, and from the +ive side of the capacitor connect it to pin 1 of voltage regulator.

Connect -ive side of the capacitor to pin 2 of voltage regulator.

NOTE: Open Each picture for details.

## Step 6: Now Adding Resistor and LED

Now Connect resistor to pin 3 of voltage regulator and then connect +ive side of LED and connect with resistor and -ive side of LED to pin 2 of voltage regulator.

## Step 7: Last Step

Connect Step down transformer to point 1 and point 3 of Diode bridge.

## Step 8: Taaa Daaaaa :)

And at last On the switch from main power.
