    Ha, I can jog faster than that, with no special effects and only one piece of easily-available equipment.

    Jogging ain't the same as cycling. Do you think you (personally) might be able to top 125MPH cycling on a train?

    I think you've missed the point of Kiteman's post.

    Adding the velocity of the train with your velocity on the bike INSIDE the train, you get a combined velocity greater than the trains velocity.

    I think I'm going with the same point, but I tend to refer to being "on a train" or "on a bus" or "on a plane" in the normal sense of being in the passenger compartment. Within the context of this post I do see the confusion, you'd not manage it on the roof no.

    You'd not be able to cycle inside the train, either (all those briefcases, odd seat lay-outs), which is why I said "jog".
