Step 1: Grab a Pot (size Based on the Amount)

Firstly, you'll grab a pot from wherever they may be kept.

Size Example: If you're making a larger amount( serving of 6+) of pasta you should use a big pot

Step 2: Rinse Pot With Cold Water Then Dump It Out

You should re-rinse pot with cold water just to make sure it's nice and clean before preparing it to cook the pasta.

After, it is done being rinsed you should dump out any water left in pot

  • Pot should be empty by the end of this step

Step 3: Refill Pot With Cold Water

You'll be refilling the pot with cold water half way

IMPORTANT: Needs to be half way filled with water so when it starts to boil it doesn't boil over the pot and onto the stove top!

Step 4: Place Filled Pot on the Stove Top Eye

Stove top eye: Circle parts on stove that can be heated up when pots/pans is placed on top and stove top is turned on

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A STOVE THAT HAS A 4 INDIVIDUAL CIRCLE DESIGN ON STOVE TOP THEN YOU'LL PLACE THE POT WHERE EVER ON THE STOVE IT GETS HOT ONCE TURNED ON

NEXT STEP IS WHERE BEING CAUTIONS BEGINS!!!

Step 5: Turn on Stove Top to 8

BE CAREFUL AROUND HOT SURFACE

You'll turn the noble that corresponds to stove top.

Turn it all the way to number 8 or "high" and wait for the water to come to a boil

Step 6: Pour Oil and Sprinkle Salt in Pot of Water

While the water is getting hot, pour a TABLE SPOON SIZE OF OIL in boiling water pot

Once finished with oil, pick up salt shaker and give it 2 shakes in warming water

If you don't have a salt shaker, take 2 pinches of salt and sprinkle in pot of boiling water

GIVE IT A FEW MINUTES UNTIL WATER STARTS TO COME TO A BOIL

BE CAREFUL AROUND HOT SURFACE AND BOILING WATER

Step 7: Pour Uncooked Pasta in Pot

When the water is boiling, pour the uncooked pasta from the box or bag into pot

Have spoon ready for use

MAY SPLASH BE CAUTIONS AND CAREFUL

Step 8: Stir Pasta in Boiling Water

You should have the spoon in hand and ready for use!

Give it a couple stirs and make sure the pasta isn't clumping together

If you feel you need to dump some water out from the pot because it looks like it'll over flow from you're perspective please do so

AGAIN SAFETY FIRST! BE CAREFUL AND CAUTIONS

Step 9: Cover Pot and Let It Cook

Grab the pot cover and place it on pot

Let pasta cook for 10 mins

You can check it throughout the 10 mins if you want, if felt it's ready before the 10 mins please move on to step #9

Ways you can tell if pasta is ready:

  • Soft
  • Not sticking together
  • Taste of it

(everyone has their own preference)

Step 10: Drain Water

After checking pasta once the 10 mins is finished, turn off used stove top

Grab drainer

If you're doing the draining individually:

  • Have drainer in which ever hand you don't write in
  • Pick up pot with pasta on stove
  • Proceed to sink
  • If you want you can have cold water running before pasta is dumped or turn it on after pasta is in drainer
  • Pour cooked pasta in drainer ( BE CAREFUL, CAN BE VERY HOT DUE TO THE STEAM)
  • Place old pasta pot back on the sink
  • Rinse pasta in COLD water
  • Make sure water is drained
  • Place drainer with pasta in it on top of the old pasta pot on stove

If you're doing the draining with some help:

  • Have person hold drainer over sink
  • Grab pot from stove and bring in over to the sink
  • Slowly pour water and pasta into drainer ( BE CAREFUL, CAN BE VERY HOT DUE TO THE STEAM)
  • After being poured, rinse pasta in drainer with COLD water
  • Make sure water is drained
  • Place drainer with pasta in it on top of the old pasta pot on stove
