Intro: How to Brew Coffee
So for many people, coffee is an absolute must before they are considered functional in the mornings. But if you are just diving into the world of coffee, making your first cup can take effort especially if it is early in the morning. So to help you get through this sometimes daunting task, I am going to how you how to brew your first cup of coffee. So lets get started.
Step 1: Supplies
To make a pot of coffee you need the following supplies and ingredients.
- Coffee grounds
- Coffee filters
- Coffee maker/ coffee pot
- Vanilla (optional)
- Cream/ sugar/ cream/ sweetener etc (optional)
Step 2: Add Filter and Coffee Grounds
Take one of the filters and locate the hatch on the coffee maker. Open it up and place the filter into the basket. Use a spoon to scoop the coffee grounds into the filter. Use the ratios provided by on the can until you decide what strength of coffee you like. I typically use one heaping scoop for every "cup" that I make.
Step 3: Add Water
Now its time for the water. Pretty much every coffee maker coffee pot I have seen has markings on the outside to indicate water levels. Fill up according to your preferences or to the can. Once you have the correct amount of water in the pot, pour it into the reservoir in the coffee maker.
Step 4: Brew
Ok everyone, this step is going to take everything you have learned about coffee makers. Flip the switch to the "ON" position. With that bombshell, sit back and let it do its thing.
Step 5: Pour and Add Extras
Depending if you like you coffee black, with cream, sugar, or whatever else, after you pour yourself a cup of joe feel free to add it now. Occasionally, I like to put a dash of vanilla in mine in place of sweetener which is quite good. Experiment with different extras but I always recommend tasting the coffee before you add anything to see what it needs (if anything).
Step 6: Finished!
