Step 1: Clean Your Coffee Maker

You Think it's clean but it's not! clean it again

Build-up Coffee

Oil, makes future cups bitter and rancid

Step 2: Use Freshly Roasted Coffee

Fresh-roasted coffee is essential to a quality cup so buy your coffee in SMALL AMOUNTS check out this coffee subscription box

Step 3: Grind It Like a Boss

Always grind your beans as close to the brew time as possible burr or mill grinder is best because the coffee is ground to a consistent size The size of the grind is HUGELY important If your coffee taste bitter, the grind is too fine If your coffee taste flat, the grind might be too coarse.

For the best result use a burr grinder and not a blade grinder. Blade grinders burn the beans in the process while burr grinders crash them without burning them. I recommend using Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder

Step 4: Add Water

Use filtered or bottled water if your tap water is not good or has a strong odor or taste maintain a water temperature

between 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal extraction.

Colder water will result in flat, under-extracted coffee, while water that is too hot will also cause a loss of quality in the taste of the coffee

Great video, loved it. A perfect cup of coffee is very important. In fact brewing coffee is a science in it self. I was reading a article the other day "Coffee Brewing: For Dummies" and it went into great detail of the science of coffee. It was a expert guide on brewing coffee for the normal person.

I started following all these steps just like you laid out and it is truly night and day! My morning cup of coffee is way better and I love the daily ritual of the grinding and boiling.
