Step 1: Unscrew the Outer Screws

You need to unscrew all of the outer screws holding your computer together. The Torx screws are around the perimeter of the outer shell. There are also two Philips screws under the rear two bumper pads. You are able to remove the bumper pads because they just have a sticky residue holding it. Then pry open the shell.

Step 2: Detach the Hard Drive

First you need to locate the hard drive, it is in the first picture. In that picture, there are eight Phillips screws that you need to unscrew. Four of the screws are attaching the shell of the hard drive to the hard drive and the other four are attaching the shell to the inner fixture to hold the whole thing in place. After you unscrew the eight screws, you need to take the shell off the hard drive and make sure the hard drive doesn't stay with the shell because you need to make sure you don't break off the connection from the hard drive to the motherboard. After you have gotten the shell off, you need to detach the hard drive from the motherboard. BE CAREFUL, you don't want to break the connection off.

Step 3: Attach the New Hard Drive

Get the new hard drive and connect it to the connection as shown in the picture. Then screw the shell onto the new hard drive and then screw the shell to the fixture to make sure it stays in place.

Step 4: Snap the Shell Back on and Rescrew It.

Align the shell in place, then snap the shell back on. After the back is completely snapped back in place, you need to put all the screws back and tighten them and then put the bumper pads back on.
