Introduction: At Home Spa Facial

Stressed out? Want to relax? Then try my special at home facial! I use affordable, yet effective products that will guarantee to clean your face while soothing your aura. Also, it's so easy -- let's get started!

Step 1: Gather Materials

What you will need:

1. 2 wash clothes

2. facial cleanser (I'm using Giovanni's D:tox System from TJMaxx -- $4.50)

3. facial toner (I'm using 2 different types: Sukin's Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic ($4.50) and Boscia's No Pores No Shine T-Zone Treatment ($9.99), both from TJMaxx)

4. facial mask (I'm using So Fresh So Clean's Aloe Vera Wash-off Mask from TJMaxx -- $1.50)

5. facial lotion (I'm using Spa Cosmestics' Argan Oil Day Cream from TJMaxx -- $5.99)

6. either a bowl of warm water or access to a sink (I'm using my sink)

DISCLAIMER: All of the products listed were found at my local TJMaxx, and I know that different TJMaxxs carry different items. With that being said, some of these products may not be at your local TJMaxx or you may have to travel to different stores to find products.

ALSO, I have oily/combination skin, so my products are catered to my skin type. If you have dry skin, you should look for products that benefit your dry skin. Any of the products can be switched to personalize your routine!

Step 2: Wash Face

It's ideal to prepare your face for the mask by washing it. That way your pores will be open to fully soak in the healthy ingredients of the mask.

First, start by soaking your washcloth in warm water.

Once soaked, add a small amount ( no bigger than a quarter) of facial cleanser to the washcloth. Try to only use a corner of the washcloth, so you can use the rest to rinse.

In my case, I'll be using the Giovanni D:tox System. I like this product because it has Activated Charcoal (dislodge and absorb pollutants), Volcanic Ash (extract impurities and detoxify), and Super-Antioxidants Acai and Goji Berry (rejuvenate face and recharge cells). Added bonus: 5% of sales of product is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Next, wash your face starting with your forehead, then down to your nose to your chin, and finishing with your cheeks. Try using circular motions to fully massage cleanser into face.

Lastly, rinse face with remaining unused corners of washcloth.

Step 3: Face Mask Time!!

Now that you've cleansed your face, it's time to apply the face mask!

First, open the packaging.

In my case, I'm using So Fresh So Clean Aloe Vera Wash-off Mask. I like this brand because it contains Aloe Vera extract, which soothes and moisturizes skin. Also, Aloe Vera has anti-aging properties that help maintain and stimulate collagen formation to restore skin suppleness.

Second, apply mask to face starting at your forehead, then down to your nose and chin, finishing with cheeks. Don't forget to massage using circular motions!

DO NOT APPLY TO EYE AREA (product can harm eyes) OR LIPS (product will leave a bad taste on lips)

Lastly, RELAX and allow mask to sit for 15-20 minutes or until dry.

I like to read a book or magazine, meditate, or catch up on a favorite TV show

Step 4: Rinse Off Mask

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock- DING! Time to rinse off the face mask!

First, soak washcloth in warm water.

Second, wipe off mask from face starting at your forehead, then down to your nose and chin, finishing with cheeks. Remember to use circular motions!

For me, I only allowed the mask to sit for 15 minutes because A) I'm impatient and B) the dry feeling was bothering me.

Step 5: Apply Facial Toner and Day Cream

Almost done!

Now, that you're relaxed and your face is fresh, it's time to finish the facial with toner and day cream.

First, apply toner using a cotton ball (oops! forgot to add this to the materials list).

In my case, I'll be using Sukin Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic. I like this product because it contains White Tea extract, Pomegranate and Bilberry extracts, which impart antioxidants and vitamins to skin. Also, it contains Coconut extract, Rooibos Tea and Willowherb that assist in guarding again break-outs. Additionally, the added Chamomile, Aloe Vera, and Cucumber extract maintains calm, soothed skin.

Because my T-Zone is oily, I add a treatment (Boscia No Pores No Shine T-Zone Treatment). I like this product because helps minimize the appearance of pores and blackheads while keeping them less visible over time. Also, it mattifies oil and shine all day as it soothes skin's texture.

I only apply a little bit to my finer tips (no bigger than a dime).

Lastly, apply a small amount of day cream starting at your forehead, then down to your nose and chin, finishing with cheeks. Don't forget to massage with circular motions!

In my case, I'll be using Spa Cosmetics Argan Oil Day Cream. I like this products because it contains Dead Sea Minerals that help to moisturize without clogging pores.
