Step 2: Examining Nails

The first thing to do is to start examining your hands and nails to determine the right steps for your nails and see if you have any cuts or sensitive areas that you need to be gentle around. Lol, my nails are a mess it's been a long time since i did a manicure and as you can see my nails are broken, uneven and my cuticles are super dry, but it's ok because today they're going to be fixed.

Step 3: Nail Polish Remover

After examining your nails, take a cotton ball and soak it in nail polish remover.

Step 4: Cleaning Nail Beds

Start rubbing the cotton ball on your nails one by one even if you don't have nail polish on, it's always better to start with clean nails and the nail polish remover will remove any dirt or remaining nail polish from the nail bed.

Step 5: Nail Clipping

After cleaning your nails, take a nail clipper and start trimming your long nails to make them all even in length, i'm gonna give my nails an oval shape so what i do is i make 2 small cuts on the sides of each nail and leave the center, if you have really short nails you can skip the cutting step.

Step 6: Nail Filing

So like i said earlier, i’m gonna do the oval shape, if you have short fingers the almond and oval shapes are the best to make your fingers look longer and if you have long fingers the square shape is the better choice to make your fingers look shorter. Now take a nail file and start shaping your nails, when using the nail file don’t go back and forth on your nail because that will cause splitting and breaking, the right way is to file in one direction and start from one side to the top to the other side in a smooth motion without pressing too hard on the nail.

Step 7: Soaking

Bring a soaking bowl, fill it with warm water and add drops of an antiseptic or an antiseptic soap, mix it well with the water then put your fingers in it and let your nails soak for 10 minutes, you can put a small ball in the bowl to keep your hand busy or you can watch some TV so you won't get bored .

Step 8: Drying

After 10 minutes, grab a clean towel, take your hand out of the soaking bowl and pat it with the towel until it's completely dry, after that, spill that water in the sink you won't need it anymore.

Step 9: Applying Cuticle Cream

Bring a cuticle pusher and a hydrating cuticle cream i recommend using Hard As Hoof nail strengthening cream, it's important to keep your cuticles moisturized to avoid cracking and dryness that can be painful and may allow bacteria in and cause infections, so dip the tip of the cuticle pusher into the cream and apply a small amount on all your cuticles. .

Step 10: Massaging Cuticle Cream

Massage the cream into the cuticle of each nail by doing a circular motion using your thumb on top and holding with the other fingers.

Step 11: Pushing Cuticles

Take the cuticle pusher and start gently pushing back the cuticle of each nail.

Step 12: Softening Cuticles

Take the cuticle softener and apply it on the cuticles to make them soft and easy to trim.

Step 13: Nail Wood Stick

Take a nail wood stick and use the spade shape tip to push out the small hanging pieces of the cuticles with going around it in a circular motion.

Step 14: Cutting Excess Cuticles

Take a cuticle nipper and start carefully and slowly cutting the excess cuticles, when you cut the cuticle don't pull it just place the nipper where you want to cut then press firmly on it and it will be easily cut, be careful not to cut too much. focus on how much you want to cut and do it slowly.

Step 15: Brushing Nails

After you finish cutting the excess cuticles, brush your nails with the small nail brush to clean them from any remaining cuticle pieces.

Step 16: Cleaning Nails

Take a cotton swab, soak it in rubbing alcohol and use it to clean under your nails

Step 17: Nail Buffing

Take a nail buffer and start buffing your nails (going back and fourth on the nail bed) until they become shiny.

Step 18: Removing Callus

If you work in constructions, lift weights or often use your hands to do heavy work, you will notice a layer of thick rough skin on the palm of your hands that is called callus and it can be removed easily, take a callus removing rasp soak it in a bowl containing warm water and antiseptic for 3 minutes then start rubbing the rasp on the callus for about 5 minute until it's all gone and the skin feels softer.

Step 19: Exfoliating Hands

Now it's time to exfoliate your hands, get a moisturizing hand scrub like Shea Moisture exfoliating hand scrub and apply it on both the palm and the back of your hand then wet your other hand and start scrubbing in a circular motion for 3 minutes.

Step 20: Rinsing

Rinse your hand with cold water and dry it with a towel, you'll notice that your hand feels softer and your nails become cleaner.

Step 21: Top Coat

If you're like me and want that extra shine, grab a clear top coat and apply it on your nails one by one and let it air dry.
