It seems either you (or Metacafe) don't allow the video to be viewed on my "mobile device"? Pity...

Pro-This really really works. I was getting poor Wifi up stairs and made one of these and more than doubled the signal.
    It's FREE
Con- It's ugly. Our main computer station is in our living room and it really geeked it up!
It can reduced signal strength elsewhere. These little things redirect the signal, so they reduces strength where not pointed. I didn't mind this fact until my son got a PS3 the was about 110 degrees away from my computer. One of us had to suffer.
Our cats suddenly looked at our router as the world's greatest cat toy (which also got them interested in all the wires -- bad cats!)
Bottom line -Until you are ready to upgrade to a more powerful router (or buy an extender), these beauties are the way to go.

I've been reading a LOT of this WiFi stuff here on our extraordinary and was wondering if anyone has tested the strainer method against the coffee can or pringles method and also against using an old directv satellite and such. Which one would give me the best reception? I'm guessing the satellite dish but I am new to this. TIA!

The coffee can with a satelite dish provides a very strong signal. Use a 1 pd. coffee can and stick your USB through a hole punched through about 1.5 inches from the back of the can. Cut the Satelite LNB off the mount flush with the frame, Duct tape the can to the mount, aim your dish and look out. We got 32 dB gain from that one I built for a friend. He pulled in signals 2 miles away!

I think this really helped somewhat. Thanks. I had trouble with the tabs, a bit, but all in all, I am sure my signal strength is better. Pretty cool idea.
