Introduction: How to Draw (Simple)
Hi. People all the time tell me that they wish they could draw, even simple pictures. I am by no means an expert but I'd like to share a bit of what I know. :)
Teachers! Did you use this instructable in your classroom?

Step 1: Materials
All you will need is a:
Confidence in yourself!
Step 2: Step 1
Drawing is simple, all it is is connecting simple shapes together. First off draw an elongated oval shape. Make sure it is only the bottom half of the oval though. Connect a line from the top left edge of your oval. Make this like roughly the length of the height of the oval.
Step 3: Step 2
Add another elongated oval bottom. You now have two legs! Now keep the left edge of the left leg going. Bring that line up at a slight angle for half a leg length or so. Then turn your line back to the center.
Step 4: Step 3
Keep this line going for roughly a leg length. I'm comparing lengths to the legs because they're the base of the character we are drawing. Anyways back to it! Once the. line is the length you feel fit draw a line on top of the line you just finished, perpendicular to the first line. This line again only about half the length of a leg.
Step 5: Step 4
Now we are going to start drawing the zipper. On the horizontal line we just finished turn and draw two perpendicular lines. these lines should be slightly angled to the middle so if the lines went on forever, they would cross. Don't make them cross though! These lines just need to be a tad bit bigger that the horizontal line.
Step 6: Step 5
Let's add some detail to the zipper. On the right side of the zipper, inside the zipper, draw another line just like the one there. Next draw another horizontal line. Where these two lines meet in the bottom right corner of the zipper is where we will draw a diagonal line to the corner of the original zipper shape. Once this is done draw a box leaving the right edge off. This makes the zipper look like, well a zipper! Lastly bring the line up from the outside edge of the right foot, at a slight angle to the middle. This line should be in line with the top of the zipper.
Step 7: Step 6
Starting at the top left of the zipper draw a horizontal line out to the left. This line should be about the length of the from the top edge of the legs to the top edge of the zipper. Turn this line up, giving it a rounded corner. This line should be about the length of a leg.
Step 8: Step 7
In the middle of the bottom line of the head draw a small trapezoid with a small line in the middle starting from the top going down. Don't connect the line to the bottom. The left side of the face, where we left off is where the bottom of the left eye will be. The eyes can be very big,as this is a cartoon character. Don't be afraid to mess up, keep drawing the circle until you think you have the perfect size. With the eye done bring a line from the top of the eye up the same length as the bottom line. Now Turn your line and head back towards the middle with a horizontal line. This line will go over until it is in line with the right side of the body. Turn this line down with a shallow corner. With the shape of the head finished we can now place the second eye. Again draw it until it feels right. I between the eyes bring a broken line down with a bend in it, this is for the stitching on the face. The line should be in line with the tongue. Lastly, starting at the top right edge of the zipper bring a line all the way down almost to the top of the legs. Go back up to the bottom of the zipper and draw a parallel line from the middle of the zipper, connect the lines at the bottom, making a rectangle.
Step 9: Step 8
Put a dot in each of the circles, now our little guy has eyes. I put my dots in the center so he could look at us. In the rectangle draw a zigzag pattern like the picture. Now next to the the rectangle put an arm on the body. the arm shape is similar to the legs but with a straight line connecting the sides. draw three line out of the arm. These lines should be vertical and don't have to be even lengths. You can add a second arm on if you want. If you do just draw a small oval shape on the left side of the body. Lastly where the right leg and the body meet is where the tail is placed. The tail should be about the length of a leg.
Step 10: Step 9
I drew my character a little to close to the top of the page, but it's okay. Let's put a pair of ears on. The ears are bent rectangles. Once you've finished and are happy with the ears there's not much left to do!
Step 11: Conclusion
Drawing isn't difficult. All you need is a little confidence, practice, and something to draw with! By the way if anyone is wondering the cartoon we just drew if Gir from Invader Zim :D
