Step 1: Use Keywords in Your Descriptions.
When you pin a post to a board, you are prompted to add a description. Use your keywords to help people find your board a lot easier. Also, don’t copy and paste summary descriptions, actually take a moment write something unique and engaging.
Step 2: Space Out Your Pins.
If you pin like crazy under one board, your followers’ stream will be full of one topic. Focus on pinning on 2 or 3 different boards and space out when you pin. You’ll engage different followers at different times on a variety of subjects. This will help you to grow your audience and get them more interested in what you have to say.
Step 3: Follow Boards, Not People.
To help keep your stream focused on you and your topics, follow boards instead of people. This tip has been learned and implemented by many Pinterest users to create more of a following and get more visitors to their site.
Step 4: Pin Your Own Posts, But Pin for Others As Well.
Pin your stuff, but don’t forget to pin other pins from your community. It shows you’re interested in what other people are sharing while still sharing yourself. For every one of your posts, post another link with a description. It’s a great way to build a strong community and get people interested in who you are and what you have to offer.
