Introduction: How to Learn About the Quran

The Quran e Kareem is taken as the most important text of religion in Islam. Muslims try to memorize this text and believe in it to be the center of laws of guidance, laws and last revelation of God.

Step 1: Understand the Holy Qur’an

Understand the holy Qur’an. The Quran is considered to be the religious text of Islam. There are 114 chapters or Surahs, 514 stops or Rukus, 6666 verses etc Each Surah begins with Bismi-Llahi Rahmani Rahim (Except for only one surah : Surah Tawba). A Bismillah is a sentence or phrase the meaning of which is “In the Name of Allah, Most gracious, most merciful”.

Step 2: Read the Holy Quran Everyday

Every Muslim should try to read the holy Quran each and every day. In Ramadan, try to finish the complete Quran by reading each juzz per day or at least 4 pages after each and every Salath. You may read any complete Surah for Sawab like Surah Rahman. You may also be interested in Dua application which contains different Duas for different occasions.

Step 3: Memorize the Holy Quran

You may start by memorizing only a few lines or ayaths at a given time period. You may try to read 3 ayath per day or 1 page within a week.

Step 4: Refer to Scholarly or Theological Work

You may refer to scholarly or theological work which has been written about the holy Quran. You may try to read the tafseer books made by Ibn Kathir which contains not only the translation, but also the meaning of it has also been explained in plain language. There are instances in the holy Quran which needs the explanation of context. The context of the Ayaths in which the nazool is done is important.

Step 5: ​Practice the Holy Quran

Practice the holy Quran – If you are interested in the deeper understanding of the great details of the holy Quran, then a practical implementation of Quran in day to day life in our daily life is highly recommended. You may also need the help from the Hadith or Sunnah (actions of the holy prophet) which will be beneficial in learning the holy Quran.

Step 6: Discussion of Teachings With Others Is Highly Recommended

You may speak to anyone who are willing to help you about the content included in the holy Quran.
