About: I am a Wife, Mom of 4, Accountant, YouTuber, Blogger and the list goes on and on. What I love most is God, my Family, and simply having fun! My goal is to teach Mom's how to care for their daughter's hair. ...

I was invited to my Sister-In-Laws 40th birthday party this summer. The theme was a Country Cowgirl/Cowboy party! I knew that I wanted to wear a cowgirl hat and boots, but I had no idea what I would pair them with. While pondering over what to wear, I thought it would be cute to take an old pair of my jeans and make some Daisy Duke shorts. Well, I am blessed with a plump bottom so I knew my Hubby wouldn't like all of that hanging out! LOL! So I decided to make my own version of them with fringes(to cover up my assets). Anyway, this is the look that I came up with. They were very easy to make and took no time at all. Needless to say, I won for best dressed!

I hope you enjoy making these as much as I did!

Happy Styling!

Step 1: Mark Your Jeans

Supplies Needed:
Old Pair of Jeans

Ruler

Scissors

Pins, Marker or Fabric Chalk

Frey Check or Sewing Machine (optional)

All Supplies can be purchased on Amazon.com

Step 1

Try your jeans on first, put a dot with a marker or pin where you want your fringes to end.

Step 2: Draw a Straight Line

Place a ruler along your mark and draw a straight line with your fabric chalk or marker.

Step 3: Cut Jeans

Cut both legs of your jeans along your mark.

Step 4: Mark Where You Want Your Fringes to Stop

We will be cutting from the bottom up so mark where you want your fringes to stop. (This will determine the length of your shorts.)

Step 5: Apply Frey Check

This step is optional but I recommend it because it prevents the fringes from raveling up past where you want your shorts to stop.

Apply frey check along the shorts line of both legs. If you have a sewing machine, you can sew a long the line in lieu of the frey check.

Step 6: Cut Strips for Fringes

Take your scissors and cut to make fringe. Stop at the frey check line. I cut about 1/2 inch for each strip. It doesn't have to be perfect, but try to make them the same width.

Cut strips all the way around and do that for both legs.

That's it. This is a very easy way to transform an old pair of jeans into a chic pair of fringe shorts.

Thank you. I think I will do this to a skirt I got from Amazon, since I got the wrong one!

This would be cute with a denim skirt as well. Thanks for the great instructions - very easy to follow.

Super cute idea. Makes daisy dukes more modest. My daughter will want to try this and I can be ok with it because the women in our family have fine assets as well. lol.
