Introduction: Personalized Bookmarks

Stuck on holiday presents? Make an easy personalized bookmark that is a great gift for anyone!

Materials:

Paper (Multicolored)

String/Ribbon

Beads

Packing Tape (Clear)

Scissors

Sharpie or Pen

Glue (Stick)

Step 1: Choose and Cut Paper

For this first step you are going to need to decide two things:

How big you want your bookmark.

and

What color paper you want to make it out of.

I chose to have a 8 1/2" x 2" sized bookmark with a base of thick black paper.

Step 2: Design Time!

This step is used to design the front of your bookmark. I cut out a light purple upper paper, about 1/2 a centimeter smaller than the black bottom layer. After gluing it on, I drew on (with Sharpie) my grandmother's name. I then used red paper to cut out an abstract rose and glued it on the end.

Keep in mind that this step is all about creativity, do whatever you want for the front!

Step 3: Homemade Lamination

Using packing tape, carefully tape over the entire front of your bookmark to laminate it.

Step 4: Making the Ribbon Hangover

Cut a ribbon about 3/4 the length of your bookmark. Tie a knot at the end then string on some beads.

Step 5: Attachment

Tape on the other end of the ribbon, then cut a piece of paper to cover up the tape and glue it on!

Step 6: You Are Done!

Enjoy making lots of these bookmarks, and happy holidays!
