How to Make a Chocolate Truffle Cake

This recipe is easy to follow and delicious to eat! Follow these 10 steps to make this great cake for yourself!

Supplies:

Step 1: Step 1:

Rub butter on 2 separate cake pans. Just enough for a thin layer coating the entire pan.

Step 2: Step 2:

Break apart chocolate and add to bowl. Then place bowl over pot of simmering water to melt the chocolate. This step should take 5 mins or less. Mix until smooth.

Step 3: Step 3:

Now add butter, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, flour, salt, and baking powder into the bowl. Mix until smooth.

Step 4: Step 4:

Using an electric mixer, mix all ingredients until smooth. Don't worry about clumps of butter as they will melt in oven.

Step 5: Step 5:

Divide batter evenly and place into each pan. Save a small amount of the batter for the frosting.

Step 6: Step 6:

Bake both cakes for 35 minutes. When the cake is ready, let cool for 10 minutes.

Step 7: Step 7:

While the cake is baking/cooling begin making the frosting by taking the remainder of the batter and placing it over the simmering water.

Step 8: Step 8:

Sift in confictioners sugar and pour cream into bowl. Don't worry if the frosting looks too thin as it will thicken up when it cools.

Step 9: Step 9:

Take a frosting spatula to frost both cakes. And place both cakes on top of each other to create a tower.

Step 10: Step 10:

Finally, place your cake onto a cake plate and serve. Enjoy!
