Introduction: How to Make a Fence Is SketchUp
First Open SketchUp on your computer.
Step 1: Change the Title
Click on the Unnamed button on the top left corner of the page.
Step 2: Change the Title
Then type the title you would like and click okay.
Step 3: Save the SketchUp As Something
Click on the file you would like to have your SketchUp saved.
Step 4: Delete Man
Select the guy and press backspace.
Step 5: Get the Rectangle Tool
Go through the toolbar on the left and open the rectangle tool.
Step 6: Make 2x4x8s
click and then move the mouse. This will make a rectangle.
Step 7: Make 2x4x8s
Type the dimensions needed which is: 3.5,8'
Step 8: Make 2x4x8s
Press Enter.
Step 9: Get the Push/Pull Tool
Go to the toolbar on the left side and select the Push/Pull tool.
Step 10: Make the Height
Click on the face of the 4x8 and slide up then type 1.5.
Step 11: Make It a Component
Right-click the pice and click make a component.
Step 12: Make Component
Click Okay on this page.
Step 13: Make Suport
Make a 2x3 inch rectangle.
Step 14: Lift
Make it 3/4'' tall.
Step 15: Make It a Component
Right click and click "make component".
Step 16: Make a Rectangle
Make a rectangle 2'x5 1/2.
Step 17: Rise
Make it 3/4'' tall and make it a component.
Step 18: Make Up Right
Get the pencil tool and build this with the dimensions.
Step 19: Rise
Make it 3/4'' tall and make it a component.
Step 20: Make the Bracket
Use the pencil tool to make this shape.
Step 21: Rise
Make it 3/4 inch tall make it a component.
Step 22: Make Foot Holder
Use the pencile tool to make this shape.
Step 23: Rise
Make it 3/4'' tall and make it a component.
Step 24: Make the Foam Cover
Make an 8'x4'' Rectangle.
Step 25: Rise
Make it 1/2'' tall make it a component.
Step 26: Make the Foam Cover
Make a 2'x4'' rectangle.
Step 27: Rise
Make it 1/2'' tall and make it a component.
Step 28: Put Together the Cover
Lay the cross pieces with the top dimensions like this. First foam upright 3.5'' away from the end and 1.5'' above the cross piece. All of the others go on every 2''s. and then 3.5'' from other ends.
Step 29: Second Cross Piece
Copy the cross piece and put it 4'' from the bottom of the foam up right.
Step 30: Group It
Select this setup and right click then click make a component.
Step 31: Get Rotate Tool
click the protractor on the toolbar on the left.
Step 32: Select the Bracket
Click on the bracket.
Step 33: Turn Bracket
Turn this bracket by 90 degrees.
Step 34: Move the Bracket to the Foam Fence
Get the move tool and move the bracket to the fence and put one bracket on each side of foam set up.
Step 35: Make Group
Select the whole set up with the bracket's and right click then clicks mack group.
Step 36: Get Foot Holder
Select foot holder.
Step 37: Put Foot Holder on Base
Get the move tool and move the foot holder to the center of the base.
Step 38: Rotate Rectangle
Use the rotate tool and rotate the rectangle 90 degrees.
Step 39: Move Rectangle
Move the rectangle on top of the base and in the foot holder.
Step 40: Set Up Up Right
select and rotate the upright.
Step 41: Move Up Right
Move the upright to in front of the rectangle.
Step 42: Group
Make this set up a group.
Step 43: Set Up the 2x4
Move the 2x4 to the upright as shown in the picture.
Step 44: Finish 2x4
Copy the 2x4 and put on on the bottom as shown.
Step 45: Get the Other Suport
Copy support.
Step 46: Fix the Duplicate Support
Spinn the upright so that it will fit for the opposit side.
Step 47: Move Support in to Place
Move the support so it is in behined the 2x4. Then make this whole set up a group.
Step 48: Spin Cover
Get the Rotate tool and spin the fence cover so that it is vertical.
Step 49: Put on the Cover
With the move, tool move the fence cover so that the hooks are around the 2x4.
Step 50: Make Line
Draw a line with the line tool straight out from the side of the fence that is 5' long.
Step 51: Make Second Fence
Select the whole first fence and copy it. Move the copy to the end of the line.
Step 52: End
This gives you two fences that have a cover.
