Have you ever eaten Korean food? If you haven't, This is your first time to try Korean food, made by you! If you like Korean food, you can try the tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) without going to a restaurant! This instructable will teach you about how to make tteokbokki (spicy rice cake).

Step 1: Ingredients

The ingredientsare the following:

  • 300 ml of Japanese anchovy soup
  • 2 Tbsp of red pepper paste
  • 3.5 Tbsp of sugar
  • 1~2 packets of rice cakes(tteok)
  • 1.5 Tsp of soy sauce
  • 2 sheets of fish cakes
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp of ground garlic
  • 3 welsh onions,
  • noodles (optional)
  • egg(s) (optional)
  • red pepper powder (optional),
  • oyster sauce (optional)
  • A pot to cook the tteokbokki ( I used a big pot that looked like a frying pan)

Step 2: Ready Your Ingredients

First, boil 300ml of water, putting Japanese anchovies in the process to make the soup. Next, cut onion (not the welsh onions; they will not get cut in this recipe), fish balls, and rice cakes. Then, get ground garlic (or make it) and also put it into the pot. Also, get the small welsh onions, and put them all on a plate to put them into the pot more comfortable.

Step 3: Get the Base

Next, put the soup into a large pot, and add the red pepper paste, sugar, ground garlic, and soy sauce. We will not cook the ingredients we put on the plate yet.

Step 4: Put the Rest of the Ingredients

Then, add the ingredients that were on the plate. Add the regular onion first, and wait until it boils. When it boils again, add the rice cakes. When the rice cakes soften, add the fish balls and boil them for 5 minutes, stirring so they won't burn in the bottom.

Step 5: Done!

Then, add the welsh onions and simmer them on low heat for 5-10 minutes. Finally, put the spicy rice cakes into a nice bowl. You are done!
