Introduction: How to Make a Multi Plataform Electronic Projects (Intro)

About: My experience in the field of electronics led me to discover the existence of open hardware and software, in all the years that followed that discovery I just started to develop my own technologies and advise …

With all the years of experience I have in the world of electronics and industrial automation, my main concern since I was a child was always: to create, I do not know why that spark ignited my mind, I always remember a phrase that I read in the Reader's Digest. which I read from the 15 because my dad had a vast collection, which said "What would the child you were say of the adult you are today." So I always try to create, my inner child want it, i want to find solutions from scratch, never take the quickest or cheapest solution, but be able to say that I can break down a problem in several ways and come up with a very viable solution for it, that makes your mind predict certain system responses before they happen, that's thanks to the accumulated experience after certain failures.

This analytical mind we all have, but we do not exercise them, and unconsciously we do it when we become MAKERS, not only "SOLVERS" but MAKER, to create ... it is essential for mental health.

I want to share a little of my experience to help those who do not see light, with some of my work, real photos and software from my private collection, enjoy!

Step 1: IDEA

The most difficult part of an electronic project is to be able to determine what we are going to do, how to do it... there are many ways.

First you have to inspire yourself, nobody creates for the mere fact of wanting IT the human being is a being full of many virtues and one of them is that many things happen at the same time, it is a balance / fight between our needs and desires. This amalgam allows sparks of ideas to ignite thoughts that can satisfy these needs and desires.

My recommendation is: go out, walk sweat, share, live!

When the body is in that condition some spark will ignite!

Now, you are a developer, you have the ideas but you do not have the means

Well, I present to you the unlimited capabilities of the OPEN Hardware and OPEN Software community

Step 2: Learn About the Process

I will not make allusions to mental laziness, but if you do not like to read, you can watch a video, you can hear it in audio but when you touch the process, just for the fact of seeing how to get from point A to point B It will help you to understand that there is A.0-A.1-A.2-A.3 etc etc etc, today very little innovation exists in the world of electronics, the integration is MORE IMPORTANT, a fair example is the TRANSITOR, we know how it works and what it does, but WHAT IS IT FOR? There is the magic, not only to invent, but to implement it, and that my friend is what is missing in our society ...

Step 3: Delimit What You Want

Write down your objectives

THIS IS VERY HELPFUL!

When you know where you are going, you know where to point at, it does'nt matter if you reach the goal 100%

in the way you'll understand many things that will help you grow!

For example:

I will make a programmable relay board:

this kind of boards have similar caracteristics like:

-Inputs

-Outputs

-A display

-PC conection

-Mounting Box

Now we're talking!

Step 4: The Softwares!!!!

My personal recmendations are VERY personal, if you already master another software, let me know!

For simulation:

Proteus

For schematics, PCB Design, Gerber Files:

Eagle

Fritzing (Also Programming)

3d Design:

123D Design

Check this Out:

Programming:

Arduino IDE

Python

Eclipse

Netbeans

Processing

For PhoneAPPs

MIT App Inventor

Step 5: What We Need?

Now we have the IDEA

Now comes the HOW

There are many creators who share their work, in OPEN software and hardware communities, they are and always will be successful people that make you push your idea to reality, But clearly they do not have the same idea as you, it is not the exact one but at least with accumulated clues you can find solutions, that will make you more and more precise.

Today we have Youtube

Where there are specific solutions with:

Arduino

Raspberry PI

MICROCHIP PIC

There we would get clues that uniting them we can make them work between them

Man creates in his image and likeness That's why for our project

We need;

Brain Mouth

The ears

The arms and legs

The body

The Psychic powers

The heart is you!

Here are some of my favorite Channels:

https://www.youtube.com/user/EEVblog

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_vO52hFzjMd2bPQA...

This Vlog will help you a LOT!

Step 6: The Brain

As the brain, it contains all we need to have to read an write signals, INPUT and OUTPUT, this is the main issue

contabilizing our project's dimention will help you to select a suitable solution.

My Personal recomendations for "the Brain"are

Arduino Nano

Arduino Pro mini

Arduino Mega

Raspberry PI

Step 7: The Arms and Legs

If we want to do somethig or affect some processs, we need to tunr on/off something, for that

we have many products:

Such as Relays,

This is a extense subject

as an Automation professional i will soon explain more of this!

Step 8: The Ears

There is always a way to interact fom outside to inside

There are many input shields for arduino or rasperry, the opto isolated is ideal.

Always keep your knolege fresh, learn applications with:

• I2C.

• 1Wire.

• SPI.

• RFID technology.

• Servo motors.

• Stepper Motors Unipolar y Bipolar.

I also recommend electronics sensors such as: LDR, Infrared, PIR, Hall Effect, Humidity HS1101, RTD, LM35 among others.

Pic based light following robot

Step 9: The "psychic Power"

Today we have many ways to interact with other devices

Via wireless

Via USB

Industrial Free protocols(Modbus)

This is a basic RF sield, Modem Long Range 433MHz: UM96 -

This is a SIM900 comunication link

RF Link Transmitter - 315MHz

Hc-06 Bluetooth link

Step 10: When We Finish, We Win, But We Can Also Take a Look to the Past and See How Much We Grow

I Love ROBOTS:

I always follow these steps, i realizae i was getting beter and beter, then i was on a point that i can create anything from scratch... y i dedicate myself to it!

Step 11: The Body

People like to share their 3d designs

if you lear simple cad software you will be able to make the Shield of your project such as boxes, hausings etc.

I have a Makerbot Replicator, its 3 clicks away to print.

Please go to:

Step 12: Test, Try Over and Over Again, Improve!

There is no easy way to success, if we persevere, we manage to accumulate many knowledge, and out projects will come out even more cool and perfect!

Success!!!

If you have ani question please send me a message!

I would be pleased to answer.
