Step 1: Gather All Supplies Needed

To start this drink you must gather the following supplies:

  • Any glassware of your choice that holds over 8 ounces of fluid.
  • A knife
  • Basic handheld citrus juicer
  • Enough ice to fill half the glass being used.
  • 1 naval orange
  • 1 2-liter bottle of ginger ale
  • 1 bottle of grenadine
  • 1 jar of red maraschino cherries
  • Teaspoon for measuring
  • 1/2 and 1/8 cups for measuring, use 1/4 cup if necessary.
  • Umbrella toothpicks, or any regular toothpicks.

Step 2: Add Ice Cubes to Glass

Make sure there is enough ice to fill half the glass.

Step 3: Use the Knife to Cut Orange in Half

Make sure the two halves are equal in size, this is important.

Step 4: Use Juicer for One Orange Half

Make sure the orange is completely juiced and then the orange peel can be thrown away.

Step 5: Pour Orange Juice Into Glass

Measure out 1/8 of a cup and pour into the glass.

Step 6: Pour Ginger Ale Into Glass

Measure out 1/2 a cup of ginger ale and pour into the glass. This amount varies between glass size, we used a wine glass.

Step 7: Add Grenadine to Glass

Add 2 teaspoons of grenadine; more if necessary for taste.

Step 8: Mix Thoroughly.

We just used the teaspoon to stir.

Step 9: Use Untouched Orange Half to Get One Orange Slice

Cut two slices just off the center on either side to get the perfect orange slice. Should be around 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick slice.

Step 10: Place Orange Slice of Edge of Glass Like So.

Step 11: Take One Umbrella Toothpick and One Maraschino Cherry

Use umbrella toothpick, or any regular toothpick, to pierce cherry. Then put this into the drink.

Step 12: Enjoy Your Refreshing Beverage
