How to Make a Solar Wood Burning Tool

I've found this useful tool that simplified solar pyrography process. Solar Pyrography is all about solar wood burning with a magnifying glass lens.

I just stumbled upon this tool from Febo.co and wanted to make my own.

This tool makes it easy to create beautiful wood burnt art with the glass lens. It's adjusted to make the lens exactly spaced from the wooden piece with the focal length. This makes solar pyrography easy and precise.

Step 1: Materials

Here are all the required materials:

Magnifying Glass lens

Amazon US , Amazon UK , Amazon DE , Amazon FR , Amazon ES , Amazon IT , Banggood , eBay , Aliexpress

Cardboard Tube

Ruler

Pencil

Step 2: Solar Drilling

Use the pencil to make a circle with diameter as that of the magnifying glass lens hand. Draw a similar circle on the opposite side of the tube.

Use the glass lens to burn the cardboard under the circle area on both sides. This makes a holder for the glass lens.

Step 3: Cut the Tube

Measure the focal length of the lens using the ruler. Cut the tube at that focal length using a saw. Make sure to have the saw exactly perpendicular to the tube when cutting.

Step 4: Use Your New Tool

Put the wooden sheet in-front of the Sun, put the tube on the wooden sheet and start drawing.
