Introduction: How to Make an IR Remote Tester

About: Electronics Enthusiast and a Software Engineer

IR Remote Tester is simple circuit that can be a good tool to check whether a remote hand set is working or not. It uses the commonly available IR sensor TSOP 1738.The IR sensor has a PIN photodiode and an FET signal amplifier enclosed in an Epoxy case.

Now I am going to instruct how to make an IR Remote Tester with less number of components.

Lets Get Started..

Step 1: Components Required

LED - 1 [ Amazon / ebay ]

Tsop 1738 [ IR receiver 38kHz] - 1 [ Amazon / ebay ]

IC 7805 -1 [ Amazon / ebay ]

9v Battery and clip -1

Resistor (100 Ohm) -1

Breadboard - 1 [ Amazon / ebay ]

Male to Male Jumpers [ Amazon / ebay ]

Step 2: Circuit Construction

Connect IC 7805 Ground,Output pins to GND, Vs of Tsop1738 respectively.

Connect a 100 Ohm resistor from Vs pin of tsop1738 to +ve pin of LED and -ve pin of LED to output of tsop1738.

Connect 9V battery +ve to Input pin of IC7805 and -ve of battery to GND of 7805

Circuit Construction Completed ..

When you press any button of IR remote , the LED in the circuit blinks.

Datasheets of IC7805 , TSOP 1738 is attached.

Step 3: Construction and Testing
