I used a 16x20 and assortment of cheep acrylic brushes. The kind you find in packages. Make sure they have a couple angles. Phthalo Blue, mars black, Burnt Seienna, yellow Ocher, cad red, Cad yellow medium, Dioxanine purple, Napthol Crimson. *** Assorted Brushes for Acrylic Painting ***
Medium flick resistance, synthetic or natural fiber. Short Bristles and Short handle. Acrylic handle over wood and Synthetic fiber over natural . Simply Simmons long handle (there short on this line) Bright #10 #6 #4 Filbert #10 #6 Detail round #6 - medium- #4 and fine #2 ½ angle shader I generally paint with Simply Simmons , Creative Mark, Ebony Splendor and Pro Stroke brushes. I also use some Windsor Newton and Ruby Satin Silver My favorite Brush is Goldilocks or Simply Simmons bright #10 Extra Firm Filament 255341010

At the lower third use Yellow ocher and make a thin line across. Right hand side a couple inches above line use your purple and make a rolling hill line that peaks more on left and ends about a half inch higher. Mix Your Phthalo blue and Purple. Paint in left corner with your deep shade of blue. I am using a wide 2in square brush to paint in my sky.
Take the blue across canvass. the sky will be better wet on wet so some hustle in the bustle is required
Add some of your crimson into the purple/blue you mix. Paint in a couple inches at the left. Keep adding small amount red and blue/purple wet on wet. Vary up the tones. Mix white into your blue/ purple mix. Paint along top of mountain. Blue and more white into your mix. Create a much softer sky color. Keep adding white in wet on wet all the way to right.
Paint mountain in purple. Mix blue and brown until you get a deep rich grey green. Paint in whole bottom horizontal stroke. Rinse brush dip in white and while green is wet pull across a touch of white. It is a wet on wet skill.
Switch to a beat up battered fluffy half inch angle brush. Now In the left add a bit of white to blue and paint a crescent at a right left downward angle soft pressure. Mix a little purple into crimson add touch white and brush in the crimson around your crescent filling at least and inch. Add a but of white to your crimson purple and fill across upper third of sky leaving at least half in at to and lower blue.
Deeper crimson across sky less white in mixture. Deeper crimson across sky less white in mixture. Add ocher to cad red along lower edge of clouds brush inch or so of color.
Add a warmer ocher to mix keeping red and highlight clouds over mountain. Wipe brush on towel mix in ocher and more white create halo over mountain. Brush in the light on bottoms of clouds. Add white to your purple and to your blue and highlight bottom and edges of clouds. Dust with Crimson and cadmium red.
Mix small amount brown blue and white in the blue above mountain and directly below cloud add a one inch strip. While push it back with soft soft blue by adding white into your mix. Good edge angle brush one inch or under.
Paint upper left of mountain with blue. Down to land and in a crescent. Along crescent add a touch of white to blue paint and add a one to two inch strip of highlight color. Paint purple along top of mountain. Add crimson into purple and a touch of white paint in the rest.
mix brown blue and touch of purple it makes almost a black to the eye. In an up down stipple on the edge of your angle brush create a line of distant trees. Dust a line of ocher across the back back third of canvas. Draw two vanishing points with Ocher. Add a larger of area of Ocher. Using directionality of your brush stroke imply the fields boundaries.
Add a layer of yellow and white. a small amount of white to the yellow. Fill in the triangles. Fill background. Mix a Rustic brown add in a dash of more brown.
Change to detail brush and flip Canvas. Bring a brighter cad yellow to the front. fill the front on with dashing strokes.
Create a focal Fence with cross beam. Vanishing your pickets paint little rickety posts in a mix of black and brown. They should get smaller as they get farther away. Continue on the road edges . Fill in the fields with old fence posts.
Add vines in brown with small detail brush. Add words and Begin Barn. Mix a light grey for the barn, create barn detail with dark and light greys. Mix brown and blue and a little ocher create a deep green. Make bushes and trees around barn.
