Step 1: How to Blow Into the Trumpet

Many people think that the correct way to blow into the trumpet is just blowing into it, when the cheeks are then blown up. This is not the correct way, since it actually makes it harder to play the trumpet. The correct way to blow is by bending the upper lip downward a little bit, and let out air. Then a sound is released, which is the note. This makes it easier to play the trumpet. To play higher notes, you have to bend the surface of the tongue upwards. To play lower notes, you have to lower your jaw. To have a different note, you have to change the fingering, which is explained, in the next steps.

I recently started playing, as a matter of fact I've been visiting trumpet lessons for just over 2 months now. Could give me an advice on using self-tearchers, for example i have downloaded Tonestro, which is supposed to help me learn on my own. Is it adviceable for a newb like me to use such a software for whenever I am unable to visit a teacher?

As a long standing brass player (30 years) there is no easy way to play a brass instrument. The blowing instructions are not helpful, you need to make a buzzing sound to get a note.

It takes time, effort and either professional or experienced guidance to do it even close to properly.

I have to agree. At first I thought it was a typo but after the second H and then the third... Actually you might want to consult with a professional bonafide trumpet instructor on how to toot your horn.
