In this Instructable I'll show you how to record sounds effects and voices using Adobe Audition CS 5.5!
Step 1: Materials
What you'll need for this is:
Step 2: Recording
First things first, you need to open a new multitrack. Click File>New>Multitrack Session. A window will open asking you some basic options. You don't need to change anything other than the name so you can find it easier, and the Folder Location which is again your choice to change.
Now that you have your project open you'll need to arm your track to record. To arm it click the R as shown in the pictures above.
You can have all of the tracks armed at once, which will record on all the tracks.
With the track armed, its ready to be recorded on. Click the red recording button on the bottom of your screen as shown with the pictures.
Now that the track is recording, the track will turn red, and whenever you speak or it detects audio it will show the sound. the larger the sound bar the louder the sound.
To stop recording simply press the stop button found on the same panel as the record button.
Once you've pressed the stop button the track will go from red to green. From here you can play and review you clip, and make any changes you think are necessary.
After making your changes, or if you're happy with what you recorded originally, you should save it. Click File>Save
Now that you have saved your work, you can export it. To export your track(s) click File>Export>Multitrack Mixdown>Entire Session. Once you do that an window will open on your screen asking you some options. Again you don't have to change anything, other than the name and the folder where the track(s) will be exported to. You have a choice between a .wav file and a .mp3 file. I always use .wav, if you're unsure of the difference there are some forums on the web which will tell you the difference.
Click Ok, and you're done! Simple as that!
