Step 1: Spinning the Rope
To start out the rug, make sure your on a flat, slightly slippery surface such as a wood or tile floor. Take one end of the rope and twist it in a circle as tight as you can, as seen in the picture below. Continue to twist the rope around until you get a large circle of rope. If you do not have a long enough rope you can get another rope and fuse the ends together by burning the two ends together. Once you have a complete circle take the end of the rope on the outside of the circle and burn it together, just like the picture.
Step 2: Preparing the Cardboard
Now comes the cardboard. Get a piece of cardboard large enough to cover you circle of rope. Now slide the cardboard under the circle of rope and outline the rug on the cardboard (see picture). Next, cut out the outline and check the size. If it all lines up, spread the glue on the cardboard and place it on the rug. Do not try to put the rug on the cardboard because the rope will get all out of place and it is much easier to place the cardboard over the rope.
Step 3: What to Do With Your Rug
Once the glue dries, you have a new rug!
On your wall as art
In front of your door
In your bathroom
In your room
On your dog
Okay, not on your dog, but there are many things to do with your new rope rug. You are only limited to your imagination!
